My other worry (if it was apparent how bad I dont want Duke to win lol).. is that Florida has looked WAY too lax at times in this tournament. They couls have easily lost in the 2nd round to Uconn and they also looked sloppy as he'll against Maryland.

I trust a guy like Clayton probably more than anyone else to get points between Florida and Auburn.. but I think Auburn and Pearl are more dialed in. More experienced.

damn, surprisingly cogent and articulate segment from kinny smiff

ETA - the part about EJ Clayton, not vouching for kinny on anything else

Wow, UF & AU can play. Have to give the devils (my wife says Baker-Mazara is the devil) their due. Yeah, I would definitely say all those freshmen projected 1st round NBA draft picks are better players than Walter Clayton, Jr. cause, you know, 1st round draft pick and all.

He's not Sears from Bama. He's too crafty with the ball and Florida runs great stuff for all of their guys that free up everyone. Whether it's Houston or Duke, dude is going to have a great championship game.

I hate to say it, but we've been saying that every step of the way this tournament, even myself. I remember thinking Baylor finally could test them... and then it was "well Arizona is actually a top team".. and then it was that Sears was actually a capable guard and talent to take down Duke. And each time the opponent was badly burned.

I hope you're right about Clayton, but I dont think he's worlds better than Sears. And that Duke length will bother him.

Let's hope Houston takes care of bidness lol.

One game closer to having a title game where we beat both teams in regular season. That'd be something.

I wonder how many title games in the last 20-25 years have that apply to another team.
Kentucky beat NCAA Finalists Kansas at Phog and North Carolina at a neutral site by a combined roughly 50 points in 2021-2022…before losing to St. Pete…

Sears was benched in more than a few games because he was giving Bama nothing in large stretches of games this season. Bama had the luxury of having 4 guards that could get it done, so Oats was able and willing to sit a 1st team All American.

The level of play in these games really is putrid.

Yet KenPom would have you believe these are the best four teams of the last 20 years, or something.

Go hard at Maluach and get him on the bench with fouls.

True, but they still have that height across the board. When Maluach is off the floor they lose some defense, but Ngongba has improved a lot himself. Knueppel and Proctor give them length on the perimeter. Could be a game where Houston needs Arceneaux to step up, but if that's the case it means Houston is in trouble.

bulk vs quickness. height vs athletes. if it’s closely called, duke should win. i got duke by 12, actually. those perimeter players have to hit all their shots for houston. dream come true. please.

Roberts needs to play extremely intelligently tonight. You know the stripes have his name circled in the gameplan.

With Auburn losing yet another year the number 1 overall didn't win it all. Only 2024 uconn and 2012 uk n past 15 years.

houston would love to keep a 2 point lead for 40 minute, lol. how you can expect a team as talented as duke not to punch through, i have no idea. houston is going to have to hit a lot of tough shots.

it IS possible, but don’t count on it guys. if houston can out quick them and get to the glass, good. i’m expecting duke to box them out.

I expect Duke to win 85-68

Just don't see the firepower for Houston. Which is too bad because that is championship level defense.
