This whole end of the world thing, the target just keeps moving and some day someone will be right but even a broken clock is right twice a day. So if I see this astronomical phenomenon, how long should I walk in that direction? and look for what? I am definitely a wise man.
Nope, the sun is going to burn us all up at some point but some (in this thread!!) are pointing to other, much sooner "end of world" events.
That is a GREAT question. It says nobody knows, only the father. Even the Son does not know. That being said, we were left the parable of the fig tree to grasp when were in the season. The problem society faces is they have heard "FIRE!!!" yelled in the theatre so many times ........... the Y2K virus .... Mayan Calendar .... Harold Camping and those off-kilter Evangelicals ....... that it has clouded the authenticity of actual end times events. Hell, I'm sure folks thought it was the "end of the world" when Elvis Presley gyrated on TV for the first time on TV,.
Nobody could have justifiably began saying such things until 48 ........... and when miraculously the Eilat mountains open up (the type of event you'd read in the Bible and people would claim as fable) and unearths billions of dollars worth of gold which is being used to build the 3rd (and FINAL) temple, well ......... people can come to their own conclusions.
It sure is interesting that Stephen Hawking, NASA, and numerous other secular outfits are scurrying around placing expiration dates on this earth and you'd be shocked how soon some of those dates are. People from all ideologies know that something is afoot. Hell, Hawking begged and pleaded with CERN not to screw around with their little collider.

Microbiologist Frank Fenner, one of the scientists who helped eradicate smallpox, claims that the human race, along with other species, will be extinct within 100 years due to overpopulation, "unbridled consumption" and climate change.
"It´s an irreversible situation. I think it´s too late. I try not to express that because people are trying to do something" said Dr. Fenner, whose statements follow similar comments recently made by Prince Charles and Dr. Nicholas Boyle.
Edward Snowden, hacker-fugitive and former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor, revealed Tuesday that a series of solar flares is set to occur in September, killing hundreds of millions of people.

Those won't be the causes of why our species will end. Something far larger (and prophetic) is afoot. Yes, there will be plagues and pestilences but it will be within the confines of a multi-faceted SPIRITUAL WAR that 80% of the blind here (and within civilization in general) refuse to acknowledge as far more tangible than the things they call "real". For some, life has not even begun. For most, life will soon end. Sad because it wasn't a difficult choice to make.
