Why does it always seem that we are in a close game in the first half with the opposing team driving with the ball as time runs out and they get the ball back after halftime?
On VaTech fg drive, the long pass play with late hit, the outside receiver came in and blatantly picked with a block and hold on dq smith with no call. I was screaming in live action That’s a pick. If you recorded it, run it back and watch it later you will see what I’m talking about. It was huge. How our booth doesn’t see it and call down to the coaches to protest is beyond me. At least make the referee aware so it don’t happen again. But funny how they catch us with illegal pics when we don’t even touch people twice last year.
Definitely not the rule, but one without rational justification. I agree with the announcer. Your eyes tell you it’s a touchdown.
It’s a role that requires a little bit of common sense application.

This is the thing. If a player catches the ball a split second before his tippy toe just comes down inside the end zone and then the ball pops out immediately, your eyes tell you that that’s not a catch. But when you have the ball in two hands and get multiple feet down inbounds before you go out of bounce in the ball pops loose, that’s a catch. Yes not by the rules we know but common sense.
Just don't go to the ground while making a catch if you don't have to. I see receivers go to the ground while making a catch that don't really have to.
of course he’s gonna make the long field goal right before the half to give them all the momentum before going into the locker room.

At least we aren’t the only ranked team playing like crap week one. I guess that’s the silver lining.
According to Beamer our offense just needs to settle down. Can't wait to see the calmed down O line in the second half.

If you told me before the game that VT would only have eight points at half time I would have said we would be in good shape
Complaining about refs is loser talk. The call was correct, the rule is stupid.
If you want to complain, complain about the OL continuing to be terrible in spite of being told how great our OL recruiting has been for the past three years.
I said the same thing about LSU last night. It absolutely is cheating refs using the ambiguity of a call rule to take away what are obvious catches . It’s also been discussed by both booths especially by LSU commentators last night same . Take your loser talk comment and shut up
