Altavista has lost a good coach. it will be hard to replace him.

Sad to hear that. It was fun seeing him turn a squad that was perennially in the cellar into a powerhouse. I wish him the best of luck in the future and I wish the Altavista program the best of luck with whoever replaces him.

Great article. I remember seeing him at those state games with Essex. He was a focused dude. The 2nd Essex v A-town state title battle was a classic.

Yes it was but nothing tops that Riverheads game that year we had no water to drink it was frozen.

I was in California when that game was played. Flew out to watch San Fran play Jacksonville, it was unseasonably warm that weekend for that area.
