He's speaking the truth. That why I switched my $100 monthly contribution from the R Fund to the Knights of the Raritan back in January.

There were many NIL threads on this board last year. Many people objected to giving NIL just to watch RU football squander their money on losing seasons.

What's the excuse now? Football is winning. Basketball has been a winner.

No excuses. Give at least $11 a month. Everyone can afford it.

Looks like the walk before the run was a success for the media to mention it.

Like I said,

-You guys should be able to do this throughout every quarter and should get coveted high traffic spots for booths to be set up.

-The tip option when you buy food should be changed to, Do you want to donate to the Knights of the Raritan.

-Student volunteers should be canvassing the parking lots and get preferred treatment for all sporting tickets over all other students. They already do it for the 50/50.

That tells you most people ignored the scoreboard promo. It’s sad when the die hards are not really. Everyone wants the 4 and 5 stars but they ethically(LOL)can’t pull the trigger. That’s just BS excuse after excuse to not give so our coaches can get better players so we can win. Why spend the $1000 to go to an away game but not give to this?

The scoreboard promo was so early in the game I wasn't even sure that was it. It was during the first break in the action in the 1st quarter. Much of the crowd still filtering in & getting settled. Then it was haphazardly thrown up on the board fir 10 seconds with a disinterested Joe Nolan telling us to contribute to NIL. Seemed very slapped together with little effort behind it.

Isn’t that the same amount the Tower To Tunnel foundation is asking for 🤔

People are often confused about NIL and think it all related to sponsers, advertisers etc making deals with players. The collectives are opaque to a lot of people still and not everyone likes them.

“Collectives, you could be Tom, Dick, Harry and Larry and you just put a bag together, boosters or whatever, whoever does it, and try to solicit these kids to come to your university. Who is that helping? I want the kid to get compensated, I want the kid to be straight, by all means. But you’ve gotta balance the fine line. Is he still going to want it like that when you’ve just given him that and he didn’t have to earn it?”...

Sanders added that in an ideal world, players would be paid based off of their performance and with incentives for hitting certain goals, rather than being offered money through a collective while still in high school.

He believes that what is currently happening with collectives is bad for players and schools.

“These kids have agents, man. Not only agents, they’ve got their homies who’s representing them, who’s just trying to use them and playing them. They don’t go to the school that they should go to. They don’t even ask questions about the defense or the offense or the scheme or the personnel or how are you going to use me,” Sanders said. “If [getting paid is] your prerogative, your first thing, I don’t want you. I want you to chase the NFL bag. That’s what’s going to sustain you.”

It is just way the world is today.

Until the rules change, Rutgers fans need to donate to collectives to achieve and sustain success. Schiano and Pike got us to competitive levels in the BiG. They did their part.
No excuses.

I agree with this.
Why not just show it all thru half time on scoreboard to get point of importance across.
Missed opportunity as usual with RU athletics

There no excuse at this point. We have two HCs that have built two clean programs built on hard work and doing things the right way.

If you like the success you see then you have to participate with donations. Money talks, ******** walks.

I didn't even notice any promo, but then again, I don't generally pay attention to scoreboard promos between plays. I'm usually chatting with my friends about the game or maybe watching something else. That said, NIL is obviously important, even if many don't "like it."
