I was kinda thinking the same thing.DC position at OSU just opened up...
How do you know he had an opportunity to come here at all?I've been a staunch supporter of Schiano for a very long time... but honestly screw that guy. You know he had the opportunity to come here. He could have come in day 2 after the firing, riding in on a white horse to try and save our program if he truly cared about everything he built here. But no, he went after almost EVERY other job that was out there. So he either thinks he's better than RU, or just really doesn't want to come back here. If he was truly loyal to this program and wanted to preserve his legacy, he would have taken on the challenge and come here on a back-loaded deal. I can't wait to get started on a new era of Rutgers football with Ash at the helm.

Multiple people were guessing. Don't believe everything you hear.Multiple sources said he had an offer on the table.
No it didn't, Fickell is the DC, ash was a "co-DC", many staffs do this to keep their staff, titles that don't mean muchDC position at OSU just opened up...
Me too but if his buyout language says he forfeits the $3 million if he takes any coaching job, not just as a HC, he ain't going anywhere for another year. Would you?

That all stemmed from 1 person on 24/7 claiming it. I don't think RU reached out to GS at allMultiple sources said he had an offer on the table.
You have a link to that report?247sports had a legitimate report. You don't get to that point, unless there's truth. An offer was made with a time table.
Schiano's style was based on what he could recruit. I'm paraphrasing him, but he had basically stated that we were going w/small and fast as opposed to big and slow. But that as the program continued to evolve, he'd obviously go for big and fast when we could recruit those guys.I wonder if Schiano is much of a fit for the B1G. His style of defense is small and fast, it'll work for a game or two... But not down the B1G gauntlet.
No longer care what GS does or doesn't do. I respect what he did for RU, and those days are now over.
It's a new chapter.
He had that opportunity at UCF. He passed on it and now he's finding out the hard way that many of the Power 5 AD's don't think he's a very good gameday coach and worth the money.Heard one guy on the radio say that Schiano has a BIG ego. It is that which is getting in his way. Nobody will take him for any top program, why would you? He will have to re-build his career at another Rutgers like football program. Can you believe the guy really thought they would give him the Southern Cal job? That is an ego for sure.
