He got the win so there's that.
However he let VT back in the game by playing dead.
Luckily the VT defense was really weak on RU's left side - the DE couldn't keep contain at all and RU ran there all night.
Kyle had a great game

I still wish he would leave the OC's alone. I have no proof but I'm convinced we went into the grind game (run, run, run) in the 2nd half at his request. Big mistake until KM hit that 55 yd run
I think the OC saw the one pass almost picked and played just enough offense to win the game, not giving Wimsatt opportunity to throw an int. They paid a lot of money for the OC, I don't think Schiano is going to call plays when they have a professional OC.

I tend to agree, but at the same time you know you're going to NEED GW to throw at some point this season. I feel in these type of games they need to have a better balance of "yeah we wanna secure the win" and "we know our QB needs work so let's get him some actual game experience throwing the ball."
If all we do do is run (and I love that we won, don't get me wrong) he's never going to be prepared when we need it.

Well how do you know that's a mistake?

Two straight games we've done this to teams. Is it possible that our consistent 3Q runs is leading to our 4Q success?

To their credit, it does feel like adjustments are being made game over game. This time we came out firing and ready to go first play on that last drive of the 2nd quarter. That’s what made the TD possible there.

Big fan of schiano and feel like he’s got things heading in the right direction again. But don’t like the slow play in the 3rd quarter. Too early. I don’t know if it’s him or the OC. That being said, GW wasn’t that accurate today.

Great to be 3-0. Love that we’re getting buzz. So much potential.

You kidding? He was dreadful through the air today. There were a few drops bit GW was all over the place.
He had some good throws today and on a number of passes, he throws to where the defense can’t intercept. Unfortunately, many of those, our receivers can’t catch either.

Playing not to lose, well you know … almost cost him. If we don’t convert the 3rd and 1…we may have lost.

a risky philosophy.

just please let’s not get blown out next week
And I’d be ecstatic…

Heck let’s get the win!!
Michigan only up 7-6 against Bowling Green

I say it here often but outside of OSU, if their offense is performing like it has for years, I think we can be competitive with anyone else in the B10 on a given Saturday. We’ve already been competitive with Michigan at times in recent years.

I hate how we turn to "not to lose" in the 3rd Qtr's but...how we have played in the 4th each time my show that I don't know as much as I think I do.

And the IF game really doesn't work. There were a few time that IF VaTech didn't do something, it could have been 40+ points for us.

Harbaugh is the most overrated coach in the country.

Don’t completely agree. Yes, the IF didnt actually happen but when 21-3 becomes 21-16 and one play away from punting again with the defense reeling… I wouldn’t call that smart coaching.

Love that I was wrong about him these last three weeks.

Let’s go!!!!
why? we were supposed to win these game and it's clear he's not playing to kill and is far too conservative.

per him, per the announcers he said, 'I manage risk, I manage the overall game'

He said risk first which tells you all you need to know

We need a guy that wants to put the foot on the opponents throat and press

The style of football was a big winner today. Most fans want touchdowns, and to see the ball thrown all over the place. But off you turn it over two or three times and you likely lose that game.

He’s not playing to step on our opponents throats..ok..

Yet we’re +29 points in the 2nd half against 3 FBS teams…2 power 5 opponents.

Like I said above, next week will be telling but love the wins thus far

the points are misleading but you obviously know that as you watched the games

We need to be more aggressive or we won't win another game not name Wagner

We beat VT who is leading the lifetime series agasint us by 12-3 prior to this game. And we beat them by 19 points.

Yeah, there were momentum swings and it got close, briefly. But I don’t think the coaching was bad at all. And it wasn’t exactly a nail-biter, just like the prior two games this season.

Obviously the team has a long way to go, and will likely get beat up next week. But there is obvious improvement and the coaches are winning the games by decent margins.
