Not as disappointed as I am right now. Lincoln Reily is still on the table.
Too young and not enough experience at the P5 level for me. A couple more years of similar performance and with a differnt QB and I'd like him more. Scott Frost was even a little light on the resume for me but doing it with Adams post Mariota was definitely another checkbox marked.

We obviously didn't reach out as we'd have been able to get him if he considered Cuse and UCF...he almost went to Cuse except Babers stalled on UCF...can't believe he settled on a G5 that even the Big12 is dismissing in realignment in favor of Memphis according to Okies board..Funny its hard to believe HE reached out to them ''Cuse''...and the hits just keep on coming..

Lincoln is ready now. They always say he's too young until he hangs 60+ on them. He got tossed in a interum OC situation at Tech after Linch was fired and excelled. He was only the age of 23. He's ready right now!

UCF has a new AD, a guy on the rise, with solid credentials who is well-connected from an NCAA-standpoint. Interesting football and AD hires -- certainly not provincial hires (didn't restrict themselves to strongly-Florida connected candidates). Compare UCF's AD with ours. Good job by the UCF leadership. Rutgers routinely makes provincial hires.

It's not surprising I've been saying there are only so many P5 jobs available and many coordinators, mid major coaches will be open to most of them. Lots of times these coordinators do go to mid major jobs, the hotter coordinators usually high mid major jobs. Herman to Houston, Fuente to Memphis, Bobo to CSU, McElwain to CSU, etc.. so it's not all that surprising.

I think it's a solid hire by them and it'll be interesting to see what he does with the Florida speed and if he can get a mediocre defense going there to go with his offense.

Mullen alone makes $4.25M per year and we couldn't get him last time because we couldn't afford his budget for assistants.
Last time I don't think he was making that much I think it was closer to 3M but got bumped up after his big year. I could foresee us going up to 3M for the right guy but I cant' realistically envision anything more than that.

Fine hire by UCF. The only drawback I see is that Frost's ultimate goal is to bring Nebraska back to its' glory days. If Riley doesn't compete soon for the B1G championship out of the B1G West he's going to be toast. Frost will have his head coaching experience at UCF plus should have developed a huge recruiting pipeline for Nebraska into Florida. Nebraska has a love affair with Frost !!

I'd rather have Babers (by just a smidge) than Schiano. And I'd rather have either Babers or Schiano by a whole lot over either Cristobal or Golden.

Babers coached four years, two years each at Eastern Illinois and Bowling Green and was 1st in conference all four years.

It's a risk, but he's a proven winner at lower levels. Let's see what he can do in P5.

GS and Dino were also interviewed but they went with this guy. It was a good choice.
Yes it was...for us....he has dreams of raising Neb back to prominence so i wouldn't have wanted a short termer here when we could use some relative stability with a guy who knows our turf.....i'd like GS MC or Rhule..Al Golden would be ok except for the TTFP connection...

Seems like a home run hire. UCF has a beautiful campus in sunny Orlando. Saracuse is way up in the snow somewhere. Where is Sewercuse? I know it's close to Canada.

With terrible facilities, no recruiting base, and just got outbid by a non p5 school.

Hard times in Siberia.

GS has that same connection, he also worked for JoePa at Penn State.

Cuse wanted him but he didn't want them.
