That was the damnedest thing to me. I guess the powers that be knew that it was likely there were going to be calls to fire him because of football and wanted to lock in a compensation package for him, I guess because of the basketball national championship and feeling like he did a good job other than getting bent over with no lube during the Napier negotiations?

Going to be interesting to see who is in charge of hiring and how much they're willing to guarantee after being stuck with Napier's buyout.
