Mississippi State has a young man on its basketball team who sat down EVERY GAME of last season. He will continue to sit the first 9 games of THIS season (excluding exhibition games...unlike John Wall). That's 44 games. He must also pay a $100,000 fine. And from what I understand, this is the result of a "lie" he told the NCAA in regard to basically not remembering a trip he took at someone else's expense in the 9th grade. Whatever the reason...he is sitting for 44 games and has to pay a $100,000 fine. Regardless of the harm Don Jackson has done his client, it's time for Mississippi State University to take up his cause. After reviewing what has transpired with the NCAA and eligibility rulings over the last week, is our plan still just to accept this ruling and move on? I hope there is more than one school in this state that is willing do whatever it takes to fight for their student athletes.

presence helped a lot, he has some respect up there. But since neither stood up for Powe at all, that really surprised me.

maybe our legal team sucks. How come Dee freaking Bost STILL does not have a ruling one way or the other for or against him? It's ridiculous. This assclown from Ole Miss knows his fate two days later.

Seriously, our medical team sucks and apparently our law team sucks as well.

I know that we have neither a medical or law school, but there are plenty of qualified and capable alumni that would be, or non-alumni if they're better than our alums, that would be better than what we are doing now.

Bost took no money., did not sign with an agent, committed no violation, but missed a deadline by a few hours. There is no justice in this universe if Bost is not reinstated ASAP.

I can't remember if we appealed the decision or not? I mean hell this situation with OM/Masoli shouldn't have made them want to stand up and fight for Sidney, they should have once the ridiculous ruling came out to begin with.

NCAA: "After 48 hours of soul-searching, it is our ruling that we will declare Jeremiah Masoli eligible immediately. We feel that it is unfair to ban him from competition after already barring Renardo Sydney from participating for the University of Mississippi during their 2009-10 basketball season. We hope that our quick ruling on Jeremiah Masoli heals any wounds left by the length of time it took for the University of Mississippi to receive a ruling on Renardo Sydney. Furthermore, we are excited about the student-athlete's ambition in enrolling in one of the hardest degree programs offered by the University and anticipate great things from him in the future."

there is no reason he should be reinstated but I damn well want him too.

I agree that Bost is a knucklehead but it is a <17>ed up world when a guy can steal computers, get busted with pot, and play without missing a beat but by God if you miss a deadline your college career is over.

to play. Oregon would have had to release him from his scholarship and then he sits for a year. So essentially, breaking the law does pay.

contacted the NCAA and said "Marcell Dareus broke a clear, long-standing rule. He is suspended for two games. Dee Bost broke a brand new deadline rule, and has no outside dealings with agents, amateurism questions, etc... We are asking for a 1/7 of the season suspension like Dareus is getting. That will equal to about 5 games!" Our legal team should be bringing attention to every ruling!
