What is the AD's role with assistant coaching changes

and what is his personal approach? I assume that most ADs will let the head coach hire/fire whoever and hold the head coach accountable, but is there ever a point where ADs step in and say, "Hey, this assistant has to go?" If so, where is that line drawn? And is this the same with all sports(football, softball, basketball, soccer, etc)?

I'm confident y'all are planning to ask about progress of football stadium expansion? .......................................

Would like to hear him discuss plans and timeline on Dudy upgrades.

[/when one of y'all says "Dudy" the other needs to chuckle like Beavis]

Outside of winning more games, what does StrickLAND plan on doing to get more people to basketball games. It seems like there is a ton of resources put into the football gameday experience, but not so much into basketball.

Secondly, when and how are DNF getting upgrades?

Lastly and most importantly...almost everyone wants to see us have higher production values when it comes to digital media on the web. Why has SS opted to not go out and seek someone to create TOP NOTCH highlight videos for social media purposes? Sorry, but getting coaches' wives to produce this content is not cutting it. Spend the money.

HailstateTV would be a great Christmas gift if only there were a way to purchase HailstateTV for someone else's account.

What's been the team's response or feedback on the new facilities? And does that auditorium have a double-wide seat for Nick James?

Somehow ask about assistant salaries. Who sets the budget for that (Scott or Dan)? Are we going to be as competitive in that area as we are with the head coach?

How many tweets and emails do you get in a week?

Maybe germans...but is the audio in the stadium ever going to get fixed? I know that's been asked. Maybe ask in the context of the expansion. Audio upgrade for clarity?

I know this has been discussed on various message boards but...

please post questions (legitimate or not) and possibly yours could be asked.
why do we not have any banners, signs, pennants or whatever to recognize any of our football accomplishments of the past anywhere inside, outside or near the football stadium? Especially, at the very minimum, the 1941 SEC championship and the 1998 SEC West championship. Also, will there be anything included with the football stadium upgrade that will take care of this situation?

The athletic department has continued to hunt down fan videos.

I'd really like to know why we go in this direction (and kill some fantastic videos by GuyBehindTheGuy) instead of doing what most schools do and actually encourage fan made videos.

Also, maybe some discussion on what went into the Rick Ray hire, and what he thinks of what Ray's done thus far.

Ask him what it will take for MSU to become more competitive with assistant coach salaries in the SEC, particularly salaries for coordinators.

Why was the basketball search done in such a public manner that allowed everybody to know who turned us down instead privately and ninja-like?

The SEC killed GuyBehindTheGuy. His videos just looked too professional for their liking. The SEC apparently doesn't mind slickdawg because I guess he is too amateur.

Famous Maroon band? As fans, is there anything we can do to force them to become more creative?

By creative, I don't mean doing the dawgpound rock or spelling M-U-L-L-E-N on the field.

^^^THIS. Do we have any plans to do a show like "The Season"?

As we all know, TSUN@! is kicking *** at video production. I wish we did a show like "the season". It's great publicity for the players and the school. I don't know who does their stuff, but that's definitely one thing we should be copying. Unless, of course, we let the producers of the Dan Mullen Show do it.

Any plans to evaluate and/or (please) change the way the Jumbotron and speakers are used next football season?

What about DWS - are there any early talks of a stadium renovation?

Or just actually let them play from time to time instead of blowing them out with the video board. The communication between the video board people and the band has to be better.

Could frame this one up as follows....The Season that Ole Miss does is mostly voice-over and video production. I think Hugh Freeze is not involved at all except for the camera that follows him. Might this be a way to free up some of Dan's gameday time and also get a more trendy football show at the same time?

"Maroon Is All That Matters" was an incredible PR success. The branding from that era resonates today. Can we EVER top that? Hint...

What are his plans to improve our use of Audio/Visual Media? Our video packages, entrance vid, etc. are light years behind Mississippi, much less the rest of the SEC. Also, how is Mississippi able to use current music and we aren't? Our budgets are relatively equal, so it shouldn't be a money issue. It seems like every time I go to Oxford, they use music from a current popular movie. This year, it was The Dark Knight Rises. Follow up along those lines, when will our band start playing some currently popular music such as the Game of Thrones theme?

Ask him how empty the new stadium would look

if the renovation was ready for the 2013 season instead of the 2014 season. Most of the fanbase is not happy about the 5 out of 6 losses down the stretch, not to mention lack of grit, determination, and emotion.

^^This for sure^^

The first year we unveiled the new videos and productions its was awesome. Here we are now with some of the same production running for its 3rd year in a row. That's just being lazy.

We have to have original in stadium production each year and if the Athletic Department doesn't realize this and/or continues to FAIL at it we will continue to miss out on a unique opportunity to make the most of the one unique feature in our stadium.

Stop being lazy, stop underestimating the people that show up to games, start spending money and get our game day in stadium experience when it should be. Its your job.

And 17 Dan Mullen if he doesn't want to help be a part of this. You just got your *** kicked by someone an hour and half north of you who gets it.

Great post...

How dumb is it that this athletic department "hunts down" fan made videos and gets rid of them. Are you worried they will expose the incompetence that you employ internally? Who made this decision? Run that dumb *** out of town.

Yea and ask him about Rick Ray.... the fourth guy we offered the job. How is he doing? Care to explain why our players all seem to have RG3 knee? How long will he have to suck?

I thought they did a good job at the Gator bowl. It was probably because they

were not competing with the jumbotron. They played a good bit, and even in between plays instead of just during timeouts/possession changes. We sat right next to the drum line, and unfortunately, that was the highlight of the game.

I would like to see more replays on the big screen. And more importantly, they should be played ASAP when a play is over.

The huge delay in showing a replay almost cost us in a game. There's a close call, and Dan is looking up the video board waiting for a replay. They almost didn't show a replay until the other team ran another play. Just barely they replay got there in time for Dan to see it and to get the play challenged.

I think we should also emphasize good plays and highlights on the video board. In game and during timeouts. We seem to save it all up for the end of a quarter or half - which is one way of many that we fail to use our outstanding A/V system to our advantage.

Would it be possible to reduce the number of commercials at football games and add some fan made videos to the mix. Also, why do the hotdogs suck?

The correct answer....

How dumb is it that this athletic department "hunts down" fan made videos and gets rid of them. Are you worried they will expose the incompetence that you employ internally? Who made this decision?

is "yes." We all know we have fans making stuff that is 1000 times better than anything coming out of the A.D. itself. But instead of embracing it to help unite & fire up our fans, we crush it. Mississippi does the exact opposite. I'll be the first to say I think the "Feed Moncrief" vid is ridiculous, but it fires up their fans & players. You shoulda seen their sideline & heard the Vaught explode when they played it during the Egg Bowl.

If our internal A/V people can't improve, we need to hire some young blood that can do this stuff. Or hell, hire a few fans with talent. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to work for MSU. Instead, we actively intimidate GuyBehindTheGuy who would've loved to do this stuff for us. It's ridiculous.

For some reason I'm imagining DS wanting to pay the AD...

...for a SPS ad on the MooTube.
