Scout.com writers pick Thompson AND Robinson to Ole Miss...

Personally, I think they have the schools mixed up. Nobody knows on Thompson (he's said it's UM/MSU - and not one writer out of 6 or 7 picked State) and Robinson to Ole Miss sounds foolish, seeing how all the articles don't mention Ole Miss hardly at all. If I've learned anything following recrootin it's that things generally ARE as they seem. Robinson may end up at Oxford but to predict that now is stupid. Those mfers just forgot to type "State" in a few places.

On that note, people are trying to tell themselves Vincent Sanders being at Ole Miss today (and Cotton Bowl for that matter) doesn't mean anything. It does.

believe it or not, even within large metropolitan areas in the southeast, like New Orleans, for example. I know because I lived there and don't live too far from there now.

He said he is still solid to West Virginia "right now". So the door is open a little.

It's hard to tell if he is seriously considering MSU or if he is just visiting out of respect for Mullen.

Paul Jones talked to Ferlando Bohanna and they are supposed to ride to Starkville together next weekend.

I love the way this staff works these late visits. Griffin and Wells are Bulldogs, period, and there's no reason for them to have not committed already...the reason they haven't publicly? I believe the staff is going to let them do it next weekend on their visit...so that, along with about 10 other commits, they can gather some momentum and have a big influence on guys like Thompson, Sanders, and Brunetti. I think you will also see Quinterrius Eatmon commit that weekend and possibly Chris Hughes. That would mean that basically everyone there outside of our top few targets would leave the weekend committed to State, which I imagine would be a huge push for the others. We did it last year with Bumphis and Thames and it worked to sway Perkins. It certainly couldn't hurt.

Also, I really hope Tuberville takes Terry Price from Ole Miss. He is Ole Miss' recruiter for Thompson, and that would help if he were to leave.

why someone would visit just out of respect for a coach. I think it would be more respectful to not visit and waste everyone's time.

That said, I really think that we are going to get Brunetti for some reason. If we don't, I would definately go after the Sims guy that de-committed from Bama.

"I promised coach Mullen that I was going to show him some love since he was the first guy to show me love when he was at Florida."

If we can get him to campus this weekend, we might have a shot. I'm sure WVU is going to strongly discourage it.

So I went and asked the superprep guys to clarify, they haven't responded yet but I'm under the same impression as you all, and that's that they confused State and OM with Robinson.

Nobody knows on Robinson but there has been no indication OM is even in the picture so either these guys don't know ****, they chose OM because we've won bowl games the past few years and they assume, or that's what the players were talking about during the week. I'm guessing they don't know ****.

Quarterback Barry Brunetti will take an official visit to Mississippi State on Jan. 15 and the Bulldogs have a better chance here than anyone seems to want to let on. Brunetti feels he's a good fit in Dan Mullen's offense and Starkville is closer to home than West Virginia. If Brunetti has a good visit, he could flip.

I was way too busy watching our game against Ole Miss, but was wondering if anyone happened to be flipping back and forth enough to see how he performed in the game.

"Carlos is very undersized right now, so its hard to judge him going against guys like Robert Crisp or Seantrel Henderson who are 300+pounds and outweigh him by a lot. He could use a red shirt season and some time in the weightroom, but he seems to be very quick off the edge and athletic.

As far as Damian none of us down here are Southern guys with solid contact on those kids, so there were some reaches or I guess you would say they are guesses."

but can't see us getting both. As far as State is concerned, Brunetti can play. He fits Mullen's system perfectly. On top of that, who in the hell wants to go to West Virginia?

...that we have a very good shot to get Brunetti. Very good. His best friend plays at State and has been putting pressure on him to get here, he's getting some pressure from folks at school, and his dad also wants him here.

MUS would be a great place for us to start to get our foot in the door in Memphis, and getting him would be quite a coup.

....got a WR from there....Taylor Reed, invited walk-on, who got playing time as a true freshman last year. He will be a good WR at State before he's done. And he's the reason Brunetti has a good shot to end up here.

the fact that the tone of all the articles up until now have been solid to WV and he's been recruiting for them. Now, not so much. That's where I get the positive vibe.
