Would be a great get at a big area of need if they can flip him. Did that kid decommit from GA or are you just kidding?

He has not officially decommitted but is "in a holding pattern and exploring all his options" now. He has lined up an official to Florida and Leach at Washington State has already visited him.

Hopefully NU is heavy after him and telling him that he'll start if he's the best player. They need to be taking at least 2 QBs per cycle for the next couple years. Love POB, still want him, but injuries happen and you need more than one QB.

Really? Do you really think the coaches would tell him "he'll start if he's the best player?" That would convince me to go there and is a recruiting tactic that I am sure they had not thought of. (insert sarcasm icon here)

Starting the best player may seem obvious, but it's just one part of the scores of genius philosophies that make me such a brilliant football mind.

You deserve a complete Pass ;) Why shouldn't you mention it when we have seen coaches that don't get it

We are in desperate need of a couple OT's in this class. And a couple DT's too.

All lineman needed. You realize the staff has landed 2 commits for both sides of the line in this recruiting class? Alexander and Wilson. The 2 others were inherited.

Wilson - is not highly rated and his offer list isn't great. We were his only real option if he wanted to play for a big school. I hope the kid makes it, as with all the other low rated kids Riley is recruiting
Alexander - is a tweener. Many want him at LB. So he's not even an obvious lineman

I like Alexander and Stille at DE's and love Brokop and Rarison at OG's. However, the need for HS DT's and OT's in this class is glaring.

Have been around a lot of coaches from HS to juco to small colleges. They all have the same thing in common - they want to win and want it badly. They know their players inside and out from every stinking drill. They will play whoever is going to give them the best shot to win. But I guess fans always know best from the 3 minutes they are on the field.

I agree with all of that; but coaches have filters and opinions - I don't know about you; but there is no shortage of posters on here ; even top football people, with suggestions for coaches. Certainly Bo was with his players and passionate..... I would rather have a coach telling a recruit he plays fair and recognizes talent; than many reports of coaches seemingly promising them a starting position.

Certainly they have opinions, they develop the drills and the standards to form those opinions based on practice every day. Not sure how many "top football people" are on here - I am certainly not one of them. I have seen several kids get recruited by colleges and playing time is never mentioned aside from the usual "if you do this and work this hard and gains some weight then you should play yourself into playing time." I would like to get solid verification of the "many reports of coaches seemingly promising them a starting position." This sounds like internet rumor to me. I just don't know any coach at any level that makes promises like that without qualifiers.

Sure a lot of it is internet talk. When I was younger; had personal friends offered cars and misc to accept a scholarship. I also know of alumni being asked to contribute to
" trust funds "; that were to find there way to recruits in some form. Still rumors, so to speak... What was the last public guy; Cam Newton ? Wasn't it 180k or so to someone
( relative ); and it was said he just didn't have knowledge ? I am not here to debate nuances or disparage the fine coaching profession - Just made a comment : but where and why do all the comments and jokes on SEC recruiting come from, me? I was just saying a poster shouldn't be so hard on himself on a player possibly being influenced: or whatever it was. I think things are way better than they ever were; but things make me wonder - didn't Freemans dad pop up as a 200k a year rep for the Republican party in Kansas after his son flipped to KSU? Would have to go back and check the timing; but its internet stuff and I would run from the hint of any such situation.

I've seen zero mention of Nebraska involved with Eason. I only see things about WSU, Florida and Michigan regarding him.
That doesn't mean Riley hasn't called him (I read Riley offered him while at Oregon State), but so far nothing has been reported that I've seen/heard.

This is old hat, but its been noted we're at least making the call. I don't know that I've seen anything out of the Eason camp, regarding renewed interest here.

is this guy good enough to block for the Georgia #1 qb decommit that riley is getting from Washington as I type this?
Foster is an Iowa legacy and he wanted to go to Iowa pretty badly but we never came close to offering. I know he is a 4 star but Iowa has a pretty good history with who we offer and do not offer on the OL as far as the player ever doing much. Have at him if you want.
