If we get that.... My goodness.

My only fear would be Florida in a Super. I think they'd beat FSU. I expect them to be a Top 15-caliber team by the time June rolls around. They are my pick to win the SECT.

We won't get a better game one match up then JSU. Just hope we aren't the unlucky 1 seed who has to face that 4 seed with a sure fire ace.

My question, who in the world would be our 4th starter in a regional?

Man, I'm thinking you go with one of our questionable guys against JSU and save all 3 of your sure things.

No doubt. Game 1 would be Evan Mitchell, Woodruff, Cox, or Fitts. Pollo, Graveman, and Lindgren would never see the mound against JSU. Even though we have a tendency to play SWAC teams close.

And Myles Gentry out of the pen.

Simple geography says if Jackson State or Valley were to win the SWAC and we were hosting, that we would have a good chance to get them as the 4 seed. If Southern or Prairie View wins, they would probably head to LSU. USM would be a 4 seed if they won the C-USA Tourney.

Potential 4 seeds you don't want:

Bryant
Wichita State
St. Louis
New Mexico
Southeastern Louisiana
Belmont
Central Arkansas

That's about as good as we could possibly be set up for a CWS run. It'd be nice to get some revenge on some Gator *** in the super regional in Starkville this time.

I don't have much knowledge in terms of how this seeding works so this may have nothing to do with the proposed matchup with FSU, but would a pairing with the #8 national seed not indicate that we're on the bubble of being one of the national seeds?

Not necessarily. They seed the national seeds #1-#8 and match them up in the CWS accordingly. But after that, the other 8 #1 seeds are all equal, all #2 seeds are equal, etc. Matchups are based on geography, conferences, and luck of the draw. I do think right now, we're closer to a national seed than we are to a #2 seed, though.

Not sure I'd have the guts to go that far down the rotation. But I'd definitely go with my #3 starter though. And really, you're probably right that you should go with #5 in that situation.
