24-17?Oklahoma won by two scores so that one TD is irrelevant. 17 Hugh!
Well………..Oklahoma would have scored anyway so still 17 Hugh!View attachment 923504
Ummmmm…..
Its probably something that almost never gets called (maybe never has been called, or tried), so OU decided to roll the dice and dare them to call it there. Hell, Hugh didn’t even know the rule. You can see he isn’t even mad about them missing a call, he’s mad because he saw an uncovered receiver and wanted a timeout, but it wasn’t granted.I wonder how much of it is Oklahoma's staff seeing that is the awful officiating crew at the game and just taking advantage of it.
I think Southern Miss tried to use that play against us a couple years ago when we played them in Starkville. The referees caught it and they got a penalty. I remember the referee said “hideout play” and I had to look it up because I had no idea what it was.Its probably something that almost never gets called (maybe never has been called, or tried), so OU decided to roll the dice and dare them to call it there. The subjectivity of it also makes it non-reviewable. Its a dead-ball 15 yard penalty if called correctly. Once the ball is snapped, its too late.
Kinda like the intentional 12 men on field that the Oregon coach did last year. It’s something that can only happen and work once before it becomes major point of emphasis for the rest of a season. If it hasn’t happened yet, and you’re the coach of a big time program, you might as well be the one to make sure you get the get out of jail free card.
Auburn...where 9 yards, 2 feet and 11 inches is a first down. The refs screwed Auburn on so many calls but it's hard for me to feel sympathy when we were literally cheated out of wins at Auburn before
I was there… Nicole Whitley going nuts watching the stick move past the ball and them still signal first down Auburn.Auburn...where 9 yards, 2 feet and 11 inches is a first down.
Don’t forget the time they cut off our sideline’s coach headsets.I was there… Nicole Whitley going nuts watching the stick move past the ball and them still signal first down Auburn.
We win that game without that BS happening.
Mississippi used that play for a score on us in 1974. We won anyway, 31-13.I think Southern Miss tried to use that play against us a couple years ago when we played them in Starkville. SEC Officiating is supremely awful.
I want Auburn to lose every game they ever play in every sport from now through Eternity so that worked out well in my view.
