The road in the SEC is brutal. Mediocre teams are exposed on the road over and over. I think Kentucky is slightly above mediocre, but not much. I can assure you I won't have them advancing past the second round when the NCAA bracket is set unless they have a really sweet matchup. Arkansas has obviously struggled at times, but Kentucky gets everyone's best shot. I think this will be a close one and I would not be at all shocked if the Hogs won it. D@A say - take Arkansas +7.5.
Alabama is clearly the class of the West but very quietly Auburn has gotten better all year long. They're still not very talented, but the play very hard. In fact, these two teams may be the two hardest working ones in the conference. Grant has yet to find an offensive flow in two year but they have played good defense since day 1 of his tenure. Barbee has no offense so he has to slow things down to keep it close enough to win, because you can't always count on the opposing coach doing that for you. While I think Bama will win fairly comfortably, I'd guess the score will be low, which means a big number is hard to cover. D@A say - take Auburn +17.5.
Along with Auburn and South Carolina, LSU is one of the least talented teams in the league. They have their moments but youth and injuries and depth take a toll, and not even a coaching legend/genius/icon can always fix that. Our struggles have been well documented, but we have been decent at home lately. At some point LSU is going to lose motivation. I say it starts tonight. D@A say - take MSU -9.5
And above all, remember how easy it is for a person like me to gamble someone else's money. Good luck.
