Note that the Capital One bowl specifically must pick a team within one win of the available team with the most wins, and that there is NO other specification on wins or losses for any other bowl.

Hope we have a good lobby. Nothing like the frozen end zone at the autozone liberty bowl.

Still, getting to any bowl this year with the schedule we had was <50% and thus a great accomplishment.

Get rid of the horrible memories of the waxing Texas put on us. Play on a major network. Get an extra week of practice and an extra week with our team together. The Ole Miss game turns out to mean a lot to us. Here's where we see how new this era really is.

We have no chance for the cotton bowl - That will be arkansas or lsu. We need a win for the peach bowl, and a loss gets us the music city or liberty bowl.

Any chance for us to get the cotton bowl would require Auburn winning out. I know we don't really deep down want that. Lsu would have to win out as well. If this happens auburn would be in championship game, sugar bowl would love to take 5th ranked lsu. Arkansas and alabama would both have 3 losses and we better hope the capital one would pick arkansas or they would end up in cotton. If they did pick them then it would leave alabama for outback or cotton. it would totally be up to the cotton bowl to pick alabama over us.... I expect that to happen if the situation was so, but if they said no, outback you pick first then outback picks bama. Cottom takes us, gator takes florida, and peach takes south carolina. We would have the same record as USC, but it all depends on who the cotton bowl wants. That is the only possible way we make it to cotton.

and winning or losing has no effect on us whatsoever. The SEC Champioonship Game is set and the winner, regardless goes to BCS. Then if LSU beats ARK, they probably go to BCS, regardless of the Auburn wins or losses

Auburn winning out means that there MUST be 2 SEC teams in the BCS. If they don't win out (specifically if they lose to Alabama), there is a CHANCE that there will only be 1 BCS team, which would probably knock us down a peg.

If FL beats FSU and SC loses to Clemson and Auburn, then Florida could have the better record anyway. That's a scenario everyone seems to have missed.

No conference has a guarantee of two BCS Bowls if one is in the Championship Game.

we have to get 2 teams in just to be looking at Peach and Gator. If we only get 1 team, peach is out.

We have no chance at the cotton.

after trying to read these ridiculous rules, I think you are correct. BUT, the sugar bowl has always taken an SEC game if the NCG includes an SEC team (during the 5 BCS game era), so I do think there is a reason to support Auburn.

LSU will still be a top 5 team and guaranteed a spot. The conference champion is then guaranteed a spot. Capital takes Ark or Bama and Cotton takes the other. Then Outback takes either USCe or Florida and Peach takes the other. I am sorry to say that we can't get ahead of one of those for the Peach, but that's the way it is this year. Then, win or lose this weekend, we are in the Gator over Kentucky or another East team. I just don't see it working out any other way.

regardless of winning out. The BCS bowls (after the obligations to the conference champions and the ridiculous Notre Dame rule) have the right to pick whoever they want. I admit that IF LSU and Auburn win out, that LSU is in a very good position to go to the BCS, but nothing is guaranteed.

Assuming both win out, assuming we beat the confederate bears, and assuming LSU goes 45 minutes south (for the 3rd time in 6 years), then MSU is either Peach or Music City bound. I don't see us making it to Gator if UF OR USC is still available. I think USC is our main competition for the Peach. In our favor is the pent up passion for a good bowl, and the Peach officials know it.

The Cotton is a pipe dream, and I think we've proven ourselves this year enough to avoid Liberty and below.

I'm rooting for Auburn to win the NC. Its my opinion that a strong Auburn is better for MSU than a strong Bama.

You don't know what the hell you are talking about. We have a fair shot at the peach if we win out and auburn and LSU win out. You negative nancy attitude sucks.

and Ohio State would be their opponent. The CBS projection guy says if auburn loses, then a one loss LSU is going to the orange bowl against the ACC champion. Stanford is screwed if the SEC gets 2 BCS teams.

I think you could see Auburn in the Sugar and Bama in the Orange. Bama is just too appealing. And if LSU, loses Ark may get a shot.

Again I say, according to BDJ, the SEC OFFICE has a rule that says a team can not be passed by another team with 2 less wins. An 8-4 MSU team can not be passed up for a bigger bowl by a 6-6 team.

have never seen the bylaws, I was always under the same impression. IfI recall correctly, it was due to our 1999 season that this rule was adopted.
