We play 5 Seed LSU at 3:30 pm on SEC Network.
YesKnowledgeable soccer posters, please tell me if I should be as pissed off as I am over that call? No way that's a red card, right? And how is that a penalty at all if our girl hit the ball first?
I didn't see it, but getting to the ball first does not negate a red card. If the play is judged dangerous it doesn't matter who got the ball. Liverpool had a guy red carded either late last year or earlier this year when his foot rolled over the ball and got the opponent studs up. It was endlessly debated, and the pundits and experts were about evenly divided if it was the correct call. They all agreed the Liverpool guy was "unlucky." That sounds like what happened this time.Knowledgeable soccer posters, please tell me if I should be as pissed off as I am over that call? No way that's a red card, right? Ref here, I didn’t see the game so I can’t comment on the exact play. Although every weekend I hear ball first or all ball. The ball first application is a myth and is not identified in the laws of the game. 3 main considerations when identifying the severity of a foul 1) careless = no card, 2) reckless = YC, 3) violent conduct or serious foul play = red. There’s considerations for each foul the ref uses.Knowledgeable soccer posters, please tell me if I should be as pissed off as I am over that call? No way that's a red card, right? Just proves that soccer is a dumb game.Knowledgeable soccer posters, please tell me if I should be as pissed off as I am over that call? No way that's a red card, right? And how is that a penalty at all if our girl hit the ball first?
I don't see how any of those apply. Wasn't careless, wasn't reckless, wasn't violent conduct or a serious foul play. Our girl literally simply tired to block the ball, extended her foot toward the ball, as you'd have to do to defend, the ball scooted under her foot at the same moment, causing our girl's foot to go on top of the ball, then her foot rolled over the ball into the LSU's player's shin.Ref here, I didn’t see the game so I can’t comment on the exact play. Exact same thing happened to a Liverpool player. I've seen that called both ways. Studs up into the shin is considered dangerous play.I don't see how any of those apply. I keep trying to upload the video of the totally not a red card here, but On3 keeps giving me an unknown “Oops we ran into some problems” error.
We’ll be in the tournament, but Vega-Peleka will miss game one.So, will this satisfy the sec or will they also be trying to stop us from any tournament participation?
Here's the play. I'm even more pissed now because the LSU player had lost possession, then our #8 was first to the ball, THEN the LSU girl put her foot in front of the ball just as our #8 was trying to dribble away. This caused the ball to stop abruptly at the same time our girl had her foot on the ball, which then caused our girl's foot to roll over the top onto the shin.Ref here, I didn’t see the game so I can’t comment on the exact play. Only reason it was "studs up" is because the LSU girl put her foot in front of the ball as our girl was dribbling, causing the foot to roll over studs up.Exact same thing happened to a Liverpool player. I've seen that called both ways. Studs up into the shin is considered dangerous play.
