This crap really needs to stop. I sat here and watched an entire hard fought football game only to have it decided by the refs in the end. I would rather watch a legitimate PAC 12 game than fixed SEC game. It has gotten so blatant that the media needs to call the conference out.

I agree it was ridiculous. Sit through a great opening SEC game only to have it marred by a terrible no call from an SEC ref who had the perfect viewing angle on the play. I swear the only school in the SEC that gets consistently hosed more in football than MSU is Vandy.

That's just it. No one will talk about it after today, it will be swept under the rug and continue to happen. This has been going on for a while now and nothing is ever done. You never ever see bad calls late in a game against Bama or LSU, ect.. My question to the board is why does the media and the SEC accept these atrocities year in and year out. You could almost make a case that the officials protect teams in the SEC that have a chance to win the national title. Is it about money? Politics? WTF??? Its something, and its not just normal missed calls by the referee. Something should really be done because it truly has gotten out of hand.

This is absolutely the moment I became convinced

that the SEC controls the winner through the refs. Look at this picture:

The ref is looking RIGHT AT THE PLAY! Either the SEC is cheating it's *** off or their refs don't know what pass interference is. If this guy is not fired, and I mean publicly, then we have confirmation of what we all know. To allow a guy to have such an impact on the game by refusing to call something so obvious is insane.

I don't have a picture but in 2000 in Baton Rouge when LSU was given the TD even though we punched the ball out from behind at the 1 (and it went through the back of the end zone) it was even worse. The ref was standing right on the goal line with a perfect viewing angle and still somehow mysteriously awarded LSU a TD. Of course we eventually lost in overtime. Other than bias there are no logical explanations to a lot of the blown calls that we've continually seen in the league over decades.

You should have seen some of the officiating in the Washington St. - BYU game then. Those were PAC-12 refs. And they were horrible.

It's pretty bad....

Dan should show the team that call and let them know that against Auburn we have to play so there is no doubt. If it's down to the wire we could get hosed.....we have to dominate so that the officials can't decide it.

It was actually even worse than that. In the 2000 LSU game, the LSU player didn't fumble at the 1-yard lint, he fumbled at the 5-yard line. And it was still called a TD. That call lost the game for us. It shouldn't have mattered though. We blew 2 14-point leads in that game. Everybody points to the 2001 USC game as when Jackie lost it, but the 2000 LSU game was really when our football program turned the corner, in the wrong way.

We haven't even kicked off to start the first game and I am already getting my blood pressure up. What would be nice is if someone would make a montage of all the horrible calls of just the past season and maybe the first half of this season in SEC games and send them all in to Slive and ask him to explain why nothing is being done.

Playing Devil's advocate.....

I`m so sick of this **** I could puke.

I watched the game. The refs missed pass interference on Vandy a couple times before they missed the call on South Carolina. I thought they sucked all night, not just against Vandy.

Hey guys, it's capitalism at its finest. In the market that is college football, Vany has no business defeating SC. They are not in the same class--two different economies. Fairness is not regarding different things similarly; fairness is regarding different things differently.

This is the view ...

that shows how blatant the non-call really was. It was shown in the replay immediately after it happened. Whether it was shown in the stadium, I don't know (I know there are some new rules regarding when videos can be shown).

The defender was hanging on to the receiver at least a second before the ball got there, or so it seemed.

The Vandy fans didn't seem to be all that upset though. Had it happened at MSU the fans would have gone completely ballistic.
