oh well....I don't understand why we just don't play 11 SEC series so every team plays every other team.

The way they have it now, you play the same number of games vs teams from both divisions. If they played 11 series, you would actually play more games against teams in the other division- I think they want the divisions decided by teams playing each other. You would also lose a week of non-conference play.

I like what Alabama and Georgia did- they don't play each other this year, so they played a midweek game at a AAA park.

and then win 7 of our last 12 to end up 15-15. Traditionally that's a 6-7 seed in the Tournament and a lock for a regional with around 35-36 wins and a top 25 RPI.

If somehow we can win the series from Arkansas and USC, there is no reason we could not win 8 of our last 12. That would put us around 39 wins in the regular season and give us a chance to finish in the upper third of the SEC, which traditionally hosts a regional.

if you are going to play 10 just go ahead and make it 11 to have a totally fair regular season championship. That would be 33 conference games and 23 non-conference games (rather than 30 and 26 like now). That's still enough non-conference games. Heck, we have THREE games scheduled this year against MVSU and another against AL A&M. I mean would anybody really be heartbroken if we got rid of a couple of those? Only issue at all is that you would have to alternate between 4 home series and 5 from year to year but I don't see that as a huge issue. Just like Auburn still got 3 cheap wins over this weekend on the road at KY just because they actually got to play them. Still a lot bigger disadvantage to not play them at all.

divisions are even more useless in baseball than they are in basketball. When you can feasibly schedule 3 games against every team in the conference splitting into divisions doesn't have much meaning. No way you can play everyone in football so divisions make great sense there and in basketball (where homecourt is huge) you would need 22 games for everyone to play home and home which again is too many. They should just play the 11 weekends in baseball, drop the divisions and just take the top overall 8 teams into the SEC tourney.

I see 2-4 over the next 2 weekends then 6-6 in the last 12 games. That puts us at 13-17 and I'm guessing an 8 seed in the SECT. But I may be being a little optimistic.

I see us going 1-5 over the next 2 series (Ark, South Car) - 6-12
We'll win 2 against Bama.
We'll win 1 at UT.
We'll win 1 at OM.
We'll win 2 against LSU.

I have us finishing 13-17, just on the outside looking in.

I think we can do better than 6-6 over those last 4 series. We should be able to do 7-5. We can take 2 of 3 in our home series against Bama and LSU. We should take 2 of 3 from Tennessee because they suck something awful. And we should take 1 of 3 from TSUN. If we take 1 from Arky and SC, that's 14 wins, and I think that will be enough.

Ole Miss still plays Florida, SC, Arkansas, Auburn, and us. They have the toughestschedule leftout MSU, OM, and Auburn, who seem to be the 3 teams vying for the last 2 spots to go to Hoover, and in the end, I think it's going to be us and Auburn getting the final spots to go to Hoover.

We're averaging 2.5 runs per game in SEC road games this year. Take out the Sunday game @ Vandy and we're averaging 1.0 runs/game.

Until we start scoring more than 1 or 2 runs in SEC Road games I'm not expecting us to win very many.

That's what I'm basing my statement on. If we win the Friday Night game we sweep. Alabama or SC could very well sweep us and that would balance that out. Another question for every one why are us and Alabama the onlygame playing a double hitter that week? I looked last week for the last weekend and it looked like our series was the only one having a double hitter. If I read that correct someone enlighten me.

we have played one of, if not the best, teams in the nation and one of the hottest teams in the SEC on the road. I think that probably weighs a little into our road performance to date.

Commencement exercises Friday night and Saturday morning so I think they were trying to avoid conflicts as much as possible.
