Weis will be another high profile OC the SEC will have in their coaching league. I figure in a few years he will be back as a HC if Florida does well...

Muschamp and Weis are a couple of singles when the Gators could have hit homeruns. Time will tell...and I might be wrong, but I love these hires from a MSU perspective. "Singles" may be a bit much...but neither of these hires scare me.

NFL money is as good or better, he doesn't have to get out and recruit and he doesn't have to worry as much about keeping his players out of off the field trouble. Maybe he just can't pass up showing off his body on Florida's sunny beaches.<div>

and what he's doing in KC is working... they exceeded all expectations this year and have a 17ton of young talent locked up for the future. Mind boggling.

Offense was never the problem at ND. Defense was. You remove him from that part of the equation when he's your OC and not your HC. If I'm a school who wants to run a pro-sytle, I can think of no one better than Charlie Weis as an OC.

Weis wants complete control of the offense which he did not have with KC.

Muschamp wants someone as his OC that can run the offense without him having to get involved just like Mullen wanted Torbush to run the defense without him having to get involved. Obviously Weis is better as an OC than Torbush as a DC, but it's the same principal. I've heard Haley had problems with the personality of Weis and that he is very overbearing and likes to run things his way. That's bad for Muschamp because he seems the same way, and with the experience Weis has, I see some clashing going on.

I have no idea why Weis took the job. Going back to college after some success in the NFL doesn't make sense to me. But if they can make it work in Florida, they could be a pretty good team.

there are sooo many young, creative, energetic options that would prove to be better for the collegiate level (as far as recruiting, coaching 18 -22 year olds, dealing with parents and fanbase, etc.). It is not like he has the corner on scheming a pro style offense. I think he lacks the intangibles for the college game...and that is why his ND teams got worse each year.

A great OC and a great DC at a big time program should equal success.

I just wonder if Muschamp will stay out of Weis' way and if this formula will work with a first-time head coach.

that Muschamp was named head coach, the first thing I thought was that he'll never be successful unless he brings in a former head coach who is an offensive guruto be offensive coordinator. Brantley will benefit big time with this change.

X's and O's will not be a problem at Florida in their tenure... if they continue to recruit well, as they've always done, they'll be just fine.

progression of things in college ball. Also, it appears I'm the only one in the world that thinks the jury is still out in regards to Muschamp...which means I'm probably wrong.

Pete Carroll won the MNC running the damn WCO at USC. If they can land the type of talent Carroll landed at USC (especially in regards to QB and WR), they'll be fine.

I'm not entirely sold on Muschamp either but he's as experienced and proven as you'll find in the coordinator ranks.

land USC type talent at Florida. I think Weis is a great hire, and this may very well be a good move for him. It's possible that he just likes the college game better. Regardless, it's a great move for Florida, and I think hiring Muschamp is a great move as well, personally.

The only way they screw it up is if they can't recruit for some reason.

Year in year out they will have the talent to run a pro style offense that, when at its best, is the fundamentally best and least risky offense there is. That's why the NFL runs it.

have a shot at all the top QB talent for a while. I think they have a red shirt QB that is already one of the potential top in the country. If it works he won't be at gator land more than 2 years unless he stays for his sons.

Notre Dame averaged less than 21 points per game in Weis's last 2 seasons.
Where did you get that? ND averaged 30.8 ppg in 2009 and finished 8th nationally in total offense, and Clausen finished 3rd nationally in passing efficiency. In 08 they averaged 24.7 ppg
