Exactly, burn your pitching staff, have freak plays like the Black Bear- Sharts-Rebs experienced, and wonder why win this thing … Minus Missouri or the Collies. If you’re in the post season (MSU), show up, try and play hard …. Take your bumps if that’s what happens, rest up, and go get ready to bust some A$$

Two outfielders collided for the Bears. It just makes no sense to burn it all for a meaningless tournament trophy.

Can't tell the Coon A$$ fans that, they are filling up Hoover and hooting and hollering like it means something.
I’d be willing to bet they are both fine.

Who was lost for the year?
Had their center fielder and right fielder do a face to face plant full speed. One dude was laid out, the other hobbled to center to throw the ball in on an inside the park, and then he hit the floor. It was as some 1987 balls to the wall. Not sure where 87 came from

Not sure if they are lost for the year, but both have been out on concussion protocol, and I would be willing to guess, the CF had a dislocated shoulder. Just going off the collision! I mean Bianco and the whole staff came running out. Hats, shades, and gloves sprawled out on the field.

Even if they cancelled the SECT going forward, we’d still be playing a conference series this weekend & someone could be injured. Injuries happen. Are teams supposed to just quit playing once they get a bid locked up?

We could win or lose the next 50 SECT and I would not care either way. It's a meaningless chest beating.

True, but looking at this tournament, does playing 4-5 games help you? Minus teams that need it? Just saying, I definitely see your point.

Maybe dramatic was a bit much

Maybe inaccurate is better term because what you stated was not factual
Well that’s my fault, listened to the folks calling the game. Didn’t mean to come off like an ***, was just going off what was said. If I’m wrong, I do apologize .. wasn’t trying to be the all know it. Just giving you what the guys calling the game had access to. You feel better now??

You know this. The tournament is a money grab. 1) For the sake of a tournament and tv. 2) To try and get as many teams in the NCAA as possible.

I think both could be accomplished with an extra weekend conference series. But hey, that’s just me.

No one is taking about getting rid of the tournament … it’s just getting crazier and crazier year end

They should eliminate the tournament and just play another series. This format now is so ridiculously poor it's not worth it.

The season is a grind. Regionals, super regionals, Omaha... Grind, grind, grind.

Then they all go straight into summer ball. Grind.

At least football seasons have off weekends

The SECT is useless

You play 4 games per week in college baseball. That’s not a grind. That’s easy. Kids the same age in the minors are playing 6 days per week & taking 10 hour bus rides for 6 months straight. That’s a grind.

The SEC tournament doesn't matter. That's not a personal opinion. That's what the committee has communicated.

I wish it did matter. I wish our 2012 run had earned us a host. The tournament would be amazing if teams like Texas and Arkansas actually cared.

Imagine if making the SECT quarterfinals guaranteed a host and making the semifinals guaranteed a top-8 seed.

Glad we bailed early. No sense wasting effort on a meaningless tournament.

Why do we play this thing again??
It’s just another weekend. A lot of teams are still playing a 3 game series. It’s not that big of a deal either way, and gives some random team a shot at the tournament. Same as basketball.

Turns out the Tournament was meaningful for Ole Miss (played itself into a hosting spot) Alabama (Played itself out of a hosting spot) and A&M(needed to win 1 more game most likely to get bid)
