This team is the opposite of whatever clutch down the stretch is.

We're an NCAA tourney team, and that's solid. But we're not going to make much noise. Just not complete enough. Damn I wish we had more consistent shooters.
the sad part is it took missouri about 6 months to build a team better than anything jans has had in the last 4 years

That’s a big concern with this staff. They’ve misevaluated in the portal and recruiting. They also struck out on every high level big man.
He’s got a good class coming in so it’ll be interesting to see how they do. But I’m not sure Jans offense system (or lack of one) is favorable for most young players to ease into and develop

Ok but if I’m coaching a team that stinks at shooting the 3 so plainly at this point, I’m not letting them Shoot 30 of them. Go to the rim. If they swat them, fine. But let’s go with that. Because we have some guys that can get to the rim.

Also the 3 at the end of the half was an unecessary help from Murph. But that’s what he has been taught. And that’s the stuff that cost us at times.

But also something just isn’t right with shooters. I worry he is getting into them so hard it gets mental. The stats say something is off
The only problem, the refs weren't calling **** at the rim. Mizzou definitely stronger than most all our players.

What might be the reasons for why that's sad other than we're State fans? Is it location or the university itself? Do they have a better coach? Better recruiter? Is it easier to recruit really good basketball players to Columbia or Starkville? Do they have more money and better facilities?

That's the huge question.

After this past football and basketball seasons, I would say money and recruiting to Central Mississippi is the problem. Because both sports lack SEC size and athletism. We have players here and there that are studs but I would say collectively our teams are smaller than 3/4 of the sec.

I think Jans gets the most out of his talent plus some. Football coaching staff... not so much.

We shall see how baseball goes this year.

Their campus has more safe spaces.
