“They just missed all the basic fundamental stuff that you are supposed to do,” William Meggs told the Times.
Meggs singled out the length of time it took to identify the suspect — which he feels should have taken a far shorter amount of time — and the fact that Angulo chose to interview Winston by phone instead of talking with him in person.
“It’s insane to call a suspect on the phone,” Meggs said.
A Title IX investigation has been launched into how FSU handled the case and Winston’s teammates who were involved have been charged — but not Winston himself.

Yeah, it was lacking an entire investigation. Reminds of the cop on Southpark, "Nothing to see here" as the place burns behind him.

Big donors don't let their heisman winning QB go to jail. It's just that simple. He could have assaulted her on the judge's bench with him sitting there and nothing would have come of it.

This stands out to me...

"A month before the rape accusation became public, the university’s victim advocate learned that a second woman had sought counseling after a sexual encounter with Mr. Winston, according to the prosecutor’s office. The woman did not call it rape — she did not say “no.” But the encounter, not previously reported, “was of such a nature that she felt violated or felt that she needed to seek some type of counseling for her emotions about the experience,” according to Georgia Cappleman, the chief assistant state attorney, who said she had spoken with the advocate but not with the woman."

There is a difference between a mishandled police investigation and letting a guilty suspect off the hook. If the NY Times had done a better job with their own investigative reporting, that distinction would be have been particularly apparent in this case.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is usually a duck. I don't know anything about the "victim", but Winston walks around and acts like a retarded 17'ing duck that owns Tallahassee.

There is also a difference between being a cocky athlete and a rapist.

Per the article

Another woman had to seek counseling after a night with Jameis. I'm sure it's coincidental.

In other words he hit dat *** and never called her back.

I feel Jameis(sp) has hit half the *** in Tallahassee but it's the ones that expect to not have to work for a living that scream "violated".

I have another theory

Since ***** was found in the "rapee's" keister but not in her ******, I think Jameis prefers to enter through the back door, but he goes on in without knocking or waiting for an invitation.

Yep, quoting someone who talked to someone else who talked to the "other woman." The Times is a couple of steps away from just asking Kevin Bacon. Crackerjack reporting.

Exactly. This sperm dumpster of a "victim" planned to use the incident as a payday from the start

Florida is single-handedly trying to erase the Caucasian blood-line from the face of the planet. There's no shortage of white chicks anxiously awaiting a ride for a sugar daddy.
