First question: are you from Oklahoma?
Second question and second question A: Are you affiliated with the university of Oklahoma in any way? If so how long ago cuz I was there not too long ago?
I grew up loving the triple option and had an Oklahoma football jersey when I was a kid in case that scores me any points

So we fire Selmon, leaving the guy that orchestrated the brilliant Arnett deal to hire the next AD. I’m sure that ends up great. Probably could use some of that buyout money we are paying Arnett, who absolutely had no interest from another school when we made him HC, to hire a better baseball coach.

It’s baseball. No AD is going to be judge on the success of this sport. Some of y’all need to come to grips with reality, baseball is no longer a priority here. I know that’s hurts feelings but it’s the truth

No one has yet to give an answer to this so I’ll ask. What is the difference between firing him today vs in May the day after our SEC tournament loss?

Nobody can confirm whether or not his contract ends this June or next June. If it’s this June, I don’t see the point in firing him now. The season is a failure no matter what and that would anlso be extra money to buy out a contract for a non-revenue sport coach.

I Googled it a week or so ago. Hard to get much hits, but I did find one that said his contract is through June 2026. Which makes sense. You rarely let a coach go into the last year of his contract. Doesn’t matter though. He has to be fired no matter how long the contract runs.

Tell us what's priority. Football is the worst thing on campus, baseball is right behind it, basketball is mediocre at least. We've cut some women's sports funding already. I don't see a plan anywhere. We basically gave Lebby a free year last year so is he going to win 6 this year? I don't see it. I'd say our athletics look like a train wreck. It's the worst in the SEC by a mile. The school wants money, money, money, but the fans have to see results or it's not happening.

If fired today wouldn’t that mean more money spent buying out for this season on top of next? I’m not sure of the details with the contract, but would we rather not just wait until this June, saving money instead of firing a coach in the middle of a dud season?

Stop blaming Annette on Selmon. He was not hired when we anointed ole Zack-a roni to follow Leach. That one is on El Presidente.
Heck if anything Selmon made the situation even worse by firing Arnett & hiring someone even worse.

Now that we're 16 teams, has the tournament changed so that everyone is guaranteed a game? Because if the bottom X teams are still left out of it, we won't have a Hoover game...

Makes no difference. He’ll be paid through the end of the contract either way.

Don’t fire him right now. Make him a Diamond Girl shagging foul balls for the rest of this season. At least then he’d have to get up off his bucket more than once during each game. Then fire him at the end of the season.

Baseball's the one sport we're consistently good at and put over 350,000 butts in the stands annually. We have fewer NIL funds than almost all other SEC schools and we might have some lean couple of years that waste millions on a thoroughly mediocre football team. That might not encourage rich donors to continue to spend on football.

And still don’t make money oh and it means zero in the new world of athletics… love it or hate it. It’s not a priority

Well in Lebbys defense he isn’t being led around the sideline by his hand having a high school coach whisper in his ear every 15 seconds. I don’t think anyone was worse than Arnett.

Lebby is worse. You can’t ignore the facts. Arnett won 2 P4 gsmes. Lebby got blown out by freaking Toledo. And we could have fired Arnett after this season if we needed to. We’re stuck with Lebby for at least 1 more year.

If MS State doesn't win in football, we mean nothing at college football. Ya think ESPN and other networks are gonna be begging to put us on TV? Why would fans show up? What's your point? I'm supposed to like what others determine is meaningful? There's no new world of athletics. There's NIL and most programs will still lose money. Like I'm gonna go to a baseball game and think, damn, some people in Iowa likely don't care about college baseball. I really shouldn't be enjoying myself because I don't share their priorities and interests.
