I know this has nothing to do with Rutgers. But if the Hawaii admin (who have less money in their budget than RU) has had enough of Norm Chow (who came in as a QB guru), you would think that the Rutgers would do the same with Kyle Flood. IJS.

the annoying reality is that Flood does not have anywhere near as dismal a record as Chow -
Chow : 3-9 .... 1-11 ... 4-9 ... and this year 2-7
pretty painfully clear that it just was not getting done with Chow in charge - and the record screams out for a change - no questions - no debates - and nobody will blink an eye at this termination

The situation is just a bit different with the Rube on the Raritan ...
if you just look at the W/L ... it does not immediately & obviously reveal the true level of toxicity
Flood: 9-4 ... 6-7....8-5 ... and this year 3-5 with bowl games his first three years -

- as maddening as Flood's blundering may be, his W-L record probably gives him life until the end of the season
- at which point RU should simply & plainly say 'we are going in a different direction' hand him his check and move on - the end ... final .... no pissing contest over trying to make it "for cause" or some other madness that will drag this stinking saga out in the media - just chop it off!

Chow was making $700,000
I think his contract was up after the 2016 season .

I cannot remember anything like what is happening with mid-season firings in college football.

Hawaii is a tough job. Their facilities are garbage. They have little money. They are in middle of Pacific etc. They are a fun team though. Their announcers don't sound like anyone you are used to (got to hear them celebrating "manly man!" tackles). They play very late in most zones (I like Hawaii games vs Fresno at 1 AM). They do a haka before games. I got to see them once

Hawaii has strongly considered abandoning IA football on more than 1 occasion. I believe last time was as recently as 2014 but they decided to give it another go. Hawaii does have some legit in state talent, but not much. And you to understand that a fair amount of those kids who have lived 18 years on a remote island might want to see something more of the USA. And while the lure of Hawaii might appeal to some mainland kids, it quite a different story when you have to live there for 4-5 years and are a minimum of a 5 hour flight from parents and friends.

Very difficult job, June Jones did an amazing stint there.

If Georgia stumbles the next 3 games, Richt will be asked behind closed doors to resign and walk out with some dignity.

Brutal year to look for a coach.

We are stuck with Flood for 2016. No doubt.

This is what Chow told the AD on his way out.

maybe .. but for Rutgers? not likely ...

It all depends on the boosters. If they are serious about winning then we will see a shocking hire and will get the board really pumped. If they don't care then we are at the mercy of the BOG, which means we will go cheap and we will have to cross our fingers and hopes it somehow all works out.
