Doing a heckuva job with he Chicago Bears......
No hate from me.the nonsensical hate this guy has gotten on this board is...well...interesting
sure...you posted this because you think he's doing a great job?No hate from me.
sure...you posted this because you think he's doing a great job? No, it appears as though the organization is in turmoil. From an outside perspective he could be doing a better job as President. Don't insinuate or put words in my mouth. You're better than this.
you're joking right?Man in essence stole millions from the conference. Deserves to be ripped.
Some fans wanted him to keep ESPN involvedyou're joking right?
he landed a coup with UCLA/USC and drove out the largest TV deal in the history of the college sports
so tell me again what we're ripping him for?
Landed a coup with USC/UCLA? They approached the B1G because they wanted out of the PAC12.you're joking right?

you realize they called the BIG and joined, he did nothing but said ok let me tell the presidentsyou're joking right?

He was kinda like pernetti of the conference?you realize they called the BIG and joined, he did nothing but said ok let me tell the presidents
Good point about the Mack trade. That was supposed to save money and re-set them for the future. Kind of like a Herschel Walker-lite trade. But it never really panned out.A different take on it. I just think he made a dumb move leaving the job he had for the one he got. Chicago was a dumpster fire and now is a bigger dumpster fire. Maybe he can clean it up but the QB is a total bust, the cupboard was bare and the Mack trade never panned out, so he's got yrs of work ahead of him. He could be the king of the best conference that has exerted it's influence to become unrivaled.
Rumors were that the athletic director at osu was the driving force behind the move. Who knows. I give him credit for the TV deal but a demerit for how he handled the covid season.you're joking right?

i mean it gets hard to debate someone's effectiveness with your approach...but carry on.Landed a coup with USC/UCLA? They approached the B1G because they wanted out of the PAC12.
The size of the latest TV deals was thanks to his predecessor Delaney, who had the foresight to make six year deals in the B1G’s previous contract to get back to market faster when they other conferences always jumped at the security of longer term deals.
He was kinda like pernetti of the conference?
Because I can read, and comprehend what I read?i mean it gets hard to debate someone's effectiveness with your approach...but carry on.
I mean just read your post...you probably have zero inside information on this, yet you're burying someone as if you know what happened. Why do you think that is?
That literally fell into his lap. UCLA and USC knew it was time to jump ship. The Covid year was a disaster even greater than it should've been. He wasn't as bad as some say and he definitely added value in areas as well. Credit for USC and UCLA though? That was a layup.you're joking right?

"Layups aren't automatic." - signed, Charles Smith. That literally fell into his lap. UCLA and USC knew it was time to jump ship. The Covid year was a disaster even greater than it should've been. You already know...the nonsensical hate this guy has gotten on this board is...well...interesting
I am sure dozens of schools approached the B1G...are they all in the B1G?Because I can read, and comprehend what I read?
It has been reported that USC/UCLA approached the B1G, not the other way around. I didn’t have to be there.
It was a discussion point at the time the previous B1G contracts were signed how Delaney went against the grain by making only six year deals and how, while it was a gamble, it had the potential of setting the B1G up for a huge payday by getting to the open market quicker (which is exactly what happened).
I’m sorry your two arguments were both so easily debunked, but it didn’t take much effort.

Because he’s black?You already know...
Can I nitpick a little? It's clear that USC wanted to jump to the B1G. They then persuaded UCLA (which was discontent with the Pac-12 because UCLA had a huge deficit) to jump with them. I don't doubt that the two approached the B1G together, but it's pretty clear who took the initiative.Because I can read, and comprehend what I read?

Not just because he’s black (the country is used to someone being black now), but because he’s black and is an authority within institutions and spaces that hadn’t seen it or dealt with it before. His COVID moves also signaled to some a tendency toward being liberal. He’s not immune to being critiqued, don’t get me wrong, but this motivation to discuss him now is unwarranted. Not to mention, he doesn’t even get credit for accomplishing anything positive on his watch. I could give MANY examples of how and when this happens…but do I really need to?Because he’s black?
He gets credit for it .As far as I'm concerned, unless someone can prove that Kevin Warren didn't orchestrate the move of USC/UCLA to the B1G, negotiate the tv deal, and finagle his way out of "The Alliance" so that the B1G could capitalize...then everything said is just hearsay. There is plenty of evidence to suggest that these moves happened on Warren's watch (just like the COVID decision is laid on him), but I don't see any evidence to the contrary.
Show and prove.
It's kind of like the 2014 season Flood had. Nobody will give him any credit. They were Greg's players. It was because of Friedgen. Etc. Etc. Well, Flood reached out to Friedgen and got him to come to Rutgers. To not give him at least some credit for the 2014 season is just silly, regardless of the Counting Crows concert, the Princeton incident and all the crap that happened in 2015.He gets credit for it .
I don’t get the hate for this guy here
I think most people give flood credit for 2014. He did coach some good games and had his team prepared. It's kind of like the 2014 season Flood had. Nobody will give him any credit. Should have said "quite a few fans" instead of nobody. We agree again. That's twice in one day!I think most people give flood credit for 2014. He did coach some good games and had his team prepared.
For what it’s worth , I wanted flood fired in 2012, 2013 and 2015.Should have said "quite a few fans" instead of nobody. We agree again. That's twice in one day!
I remember the USF game in [CORRECTED to 2013], and there was a strong buzz that Flood was going to get fired. People were convinced it was going to happen. Wasn't that also the Kyle Flood bobblehead night? For what it’s worth , I wanted flood fired in 2012, 2013 and 2015.
But in 2014 I permitted him to stay.
what in the world come over you 2Should have said "quite a few fans" instead of nobody. We agree again. That's twice in one day!
