Wow, I don't remember seeing, or even hearing, about that. Now THAT really is a picture I'd like to see!
-And speaking of things from the 70's, does anybody remember the
Rutgers Scarlettes? They weren't around for all that long a time either...lol. Don't really know if they were supposed to be a forerunner of the RU dance team or what, and in truth, I never actually saw them in person at any Rutgers sports event. But I remember seeing a newspaper photo of them in what was then called The Home News, along with a very brief blurb under the picture stating what they were all about as a cheer group.
Their "uniforms" weren't really uniforms as such. They were more like a sort of typical 70's get-up with white "hot pants", white knee-high length zip-up boots, and, I believe, a red top with a white short-length vest over it. (Think along the lines of what the Dallas Cheerleaders wear, but definitely not quite as "extreme". -And no, unfortunately I couldn't find a link to any vintage shot of them.
Ahh, those 1970's. Was only just a kid back then, but there really was some interesting stuff that came out of that decade, and I guess the Scarlettes would fit nicely into that group, (along with the RU mechanical knight, of course;-).
