I'm looking for new podcasts/shows to listen to. I drive a hell of a lot during the day, so I run out of **** to listen to before I make it home. My usual lineup in the morning is Dan Patrick (usually just the first hour), then B&B Show/TIOS in the late morning. Then usually try to catch Jay Mohr Sports during the lunch hour. I hated Jim Rome but always enjoyed it when Mohr filled in for him, now he's basically got Rome's old slot full time. In the late afternoon I start looking around for podcasts and it's hit or miss, depending on what the guest/topic is, and it's usually a shuffle between WTF with Marc Maron, Nerdist, Sklarbro Country, and Stuff You Missed in History Class.

There is good **** out there that I don't know about. I tried the rest of the BSR Lineup but stuff tends to get rehashed, plus I can't stand Brad Locke's voice.

I'll listen to OOB and 620 coming in. Listen to B&B at work. Then I will listen to H2H on the way home (well the commercials at least).

Lots of commercials if radio is on OOB or MS Sports during morning commute.

If I wanted to hear rednecks laugh at themselves, or hear about neckcar, I suppose I would turn on Z106, but I don't anymore, especially since Z started playing station tags that would make an ad writer for a car dealer blush between EVERY Song.

Deep Tracks on XM Radio is great if you want to hear obscure Album Rock you haven't heard since 1974. I promise you will hear something by a popular band that you thought you were very familiar with that you hadn't heard before.

Oh JB&B is definitely riddled with commercials--during which I switch to Raw Dog. Deep Tracks is great, especially for long road trips. Just like you said--there are so many "new" oldies I'm always using Sound Hound to store the song for downloading later. If you want cheap but legal (as opposed to free but illegal) I recommend http://www.alltunes.com/ Its a Russian download site, that costs about 1/10th of iTunes, has no copy protection on downloads (so you can use them on multiple devices) and has a much later catalogue.

Not a

dig at you, but it blows me away how anyone can listen to JB&B. That **** is terrible. The only thing I can sometimes handle is ax Ike and when that cat imitates Karl Childers. It's just not my cup of tea, I guess.

ETA: So that I can have my balls busted, I listen to WYAB in the morning for Savage and evening for Kim Wade.

Sometimes Walton and Johnson in the morning, usually a podcast in the afternoon.

This American Life, 99% Invisible, and The Moth are usually pretty good. The Marc Maron and Nerdist podcasts just didn't do it for me.

Sirius/XM 60s on 6. No sports unless it's going to or from an MSU football game.

I'm with on JB&B... I cannot think of a worse thing to listen to shortly after waking up. If I'm forced to listen to it, I will be in a bad mood all day long. I'd rather listen to Barny or Dora playing in the background... At least that only drives me partly insane.

I'll never understand how anyone can listen to JB&B either. For the record, XM Radio (First Wave, Classic Rewind, Lithium, Classic Vinyl & Ozzie's Boneyard) and JackFM.

Good choices.

I'm tuned in to Paul Gallo in the AM, H2H in the PM

Mornings its something on Sirius, in the Fall its Bill Kings College Football Show. Now its whatever music catches my ear. Had to give up on OOB and H2H. Afternoons its Tune In and one of their podcasts. They have some good ones, you just have to look for them.

Oh my god, I don't know how John Boy and Billy still have a job.. Once they start all that laughing, I move on.

Rick & Bubba, although ultra-conservative and somewhat sheltered, are usually tolerable, but podcasts are the way to go for me.

I listen to sports talk during late summer and football season only. Otherwise I would have to listen to people talk about the Memphis basketball team not beating Tulane by enough points and not being ranked high enough. Public radio the rest of the time. I have had and enjoyed Sirius, but I'm not in the car enough to justify the cost.

Mississippi Sports This Morning

It's a good show, I liked it better when Doug was trashing Stans daily...

wasn't trying to bash you, but I cannot stand them, more because I want to hear

music, not talk and insessant laughter. I will agree some of their skits are pretty funny, but its not my cup of tea. Actually think that their format would fit a country music station better than a rock station.

Also knew the DJ's that were replaced back in the 90's when John Boy, et al, took their job. Would rather hear a local program instead of some guys from up in the Carolinas

Steve Czaben until 9:00, OOB until 10, 97.3 out of Birmingham until 2:00 then switch over to Jox (all on TuneIn). The round table is the best sports show on the radio. I am waiting for Finebaum to get back on the air.

Audiobooks. I also listen to them while doing house/yardwork, and in the gym. I get totally distracted and accidentally work out longer than normal, which is good. I just finished listening to every single Spenser book by Robert B. Parker, there had to be like 40 of them. I listen to a book every two weeks on average I guess. I also listen to them to drown out crying children on airplanes.

I was a huge fan in high school, circa '93-'95. Some of the stuff was great, I even had their first box set, but damn, 20 years later some of that has to be getting pretty old.

Old archived episodes of this American life or radiolab, dp show in the afternoon, spotify radio, audiobooks. Cowherd or svp mostly when russillo is filling in. 99 percent of sports talk radio is just garbage.

Walton and Johnson in the morning. One of the benefits of being here is W&J as oppossed to two Gumps laughing at their scripted stuff on JB&B or whatever that was out of Dallas on 93.9.

Which is like once a month, if that often.

I'm with you. I love JB&B. I hate my commute is all of ten minutes. I used to listen to them a solid hour every morning. Have a ton of their CD's too.
