Where are the overall rankings this is East and west separate???
Simmons rankings is the only one that I've seen with overall rankings even MaxPreps separates East and West in their rankings. Before MaxPreps who's rankings the nchsaa used was overall because they didn't separate East and West until the playoffs there's some borderline schools that's been in both but under the new re-alignment and system at least thru 2025 until the next re-alignment the schools are already separated so a team's playoff seeding will be done separately and depend on each team's RPI rankings.
So if your school is in the West your only concern is your RPI rankings compared to other West teams.

With only 31 teams in the east does that mean one team gets a bye in the playoffs?

Example of how it can change from one week to the next
In the West last week Mtn Heritage was ranked #2 and Mt Airy #6 ..this week Mt Airy is #2 and Mtn Heritage #8

While both won their games MA stayed 4-0 to 5-0 stays 1.000 but their opponents winning percentage went up.
Mtn Heritage winning percentage went up from 2-1(.667) to 3-1(.75) but opponents & opp-opp winning percentage went down especially opponents which counts for 40% of your RPI.

Yeah they don't matter a whole lot now .
I might be over-thinking this but with teams picking up games with teams not on the regular schedule because of a canceled game, there could be a thought of which is more beneficial A: your kids need to play especially if they missed several but B: is team your playing hurt your RPI your playoff seeding? example obviously if you lose but even if you win but your opponent has a poor winning percentage their opponents have a poor winning%, in some cases as far as your rankings you could actually have a better chance of not go down or even going up in the rankings if you don't make up a canceled game with a different team.
personally I'd still rather play.

If I understood coach Chappell on his radio show last week .If you have seven teams in a conference like us, one team is not able to play two conference games because of covid ,but won the five games they played another team finishes 6 and 1.The team that only played five conference games and was 5-0 would be declared the conference champion and get the top seed. That don't make a lot of sense.

well I don't know and I can't find anything that says anything about that scenario.
If I understand correctly you're talking a deal were you have a 7 team conference so that's 6 conference games and one team because covid plays no non- conference and 5 conference games and the other plays 7 games total 4 conference 2 non-conference and is 4-0 in the conference and 1-1 in the non total 6-1.
From what I understand the RPI is only for the playoff seeding if they were two teams from different conferences then say the 5-0 team and the 6-1 opponents winning % and opponents opp win % where exactly (which would be about impossible) the same then the 5-0 has a 100% winning percentage and 6-1 is 86% the 5-0 would be higher seeded. there probably will be teams with a better record then other team but who are lower seeded because their RPI is lower because of strength of schedule.
But I would assume it's going to have to be up to the conference to figure that deal out and report their conference champion to the nchsaa maybe treat it like a tie and do a coin flip or something but that's why they want to if possible reschedule conference games on Mondays or Tuesdays to avoid such a mess but some conference will probably run into it.
