Is traffic on the board a desirable thing?

Do topics discussed make a difference to the host company?

Does any topic or type of topic cause a decrease or increase in board traffic?

I ask because I find "our" board has managed, to what I feel, is a pretty good balance of topics. There is a reason for me to look at it each day. If all we talked about was the running back room or QBs or weekend starters or the back court it would become just too repetitive.
Now I am able to check myself and not read and then comment on topics that don't interest me like the Macron thread, so I don't really care if it's there or not.
I do see it could become a problem if it stays on page one for a week or two otherwise they all generally lose steam. That leads me to one final question.

Is there a space issue that proves troublesome if tooMuchCrap gets posted?

Traffic on the board is 100% desirable. It’s a fine line of allowing topics but not being Gene Swindoll. Topics discussed don’t make a difference to On3 unless they are obviously bad.

Football is the busiest time of year.

Jan - May stays about the same.

June and July are slow which is why I probably am a little more lax on OT.

The topics are really driven by the sports season. I like variety. OT threads pick up during the off-season on average. I ignore the ones I don’t want to read.

This board has become my go-to daily time-waster. It serves a valuable purpose. I would miss the banter and camaraderie if it disappeared. The presence of idiots, bigots, lesbian roller bladers, dead secretaries of state, flame-throwing tea-partiers, Idahoan perverts, fatties, mom’s basement dwellers, weather nerds, suspected terrorists/serial killers and introverted spectrumers makes this place special. I see this place as proof of concept that people can be in community without necessarily being forced to get along well.

I'm definitely one of those types you described, just not sure which one yet. Probably multiple.

I've spent more time on Sixpack since 2003 than I have on all other sites combined by a mile. Y'all are like family to me-the kind you hear from everyday whether you like it or not-though I only personally know a few of you. I enjoy the freedom we have to post truly any topic, and I choose what interests me enough to scroll through. This place is like the Jelly of the Month Club.

Obviously I am in the Freedom of Post group. I do also agree that I don't enjoy a bunch of serious personal attacks and that calls for locking. I would avoid locking things automatically because of a topic unless it's about lesbian rollerbladers, because we know nothing good can come from that.

So I would say I like the community we got here even though I can't stand some of y'all 😉.
Let freedom ring.

Six-pack is, without question, the embodiment of the antidote to the idiotic trope that "diversity is our strength".

Our UNITY, in spite of our diversity, is our strength.

I'm pretty sure I saw a pictorial I liked very much in the 80's in a high art magazine known as the Penthouse in which lesbian rollerbladers were the subject matter.

It was outstanding content...

Dammit. Process of elimination tells me I’m either a fatty or a suspected terrorist/serial killer.

The literal definition of university-unity in diversity
Not sure if trolling, but that’s not what university means. It comes from the Latin for one truth. Just go ahead and check spectrum dweller for me for even posting this.

What dictionary did you find that definition - the Leftist Guide to the English language. The latin root for university is "the whole", not sure what that has to do with diversity.
Yours is a respectful rebuttal. Literal was literally wrong. I’ll ignore some of the subsequent posts that indicate that the other poster has allowed politics to completely pervert their ability to use a word for anything positive. I was simply pointing out that this collection of individuals is very diverse yet bonded by MSU.

The unity in diversity phrase emphasizes the idea of finding common ground, shared purpose, or harmony among individuals or groups with differing backgrounds, perspectives, or characteristics. “The whole” an idea of many departments, people, etc. coming together for a common reason- MSU
