I laugh at the Side Walk Fans of alabama but many of those stupid SOB's do buy tickets and donate to the program. I wish Miss State had as many side walk fans.

It was awesome. Good job, and I think its actually good journalism. This is the world the sports fan cares about now. I don't need a journalist to tell me stats and who won the game. I need a journalist to tell me that Alabama fans are bat **** crazy.

your stuff is good.

On a side note, I had a mighty fine hotdog not too long ago. I was reminded of you pounding in the final nail. Maybe he had it coming but you should've thought that through a little more.

there are two OM fans, a hog fan, one gator, a Kentucky BB fan, two aggies, one rabid LSU fan, two Auburn fans, a UT nut case, one USCe fan, me, and 3 Bama 'worshippers.' All, at least attended 'their' school EXCEPT the 3 Bama fans. One went to South Alabama, one to UAB and the other went to Troy at an Air Force Base. For the most part, we have a great time kidding with each other EXCEPT the 3 Bama guys simply refuse to join in. It is simply 'life or death' type stuff to them.

Good read and funny as all get out. Truth be known all SEC schools have sidewalk fans.

But this provides more harassing things for my UA friends.

Reminded me of the SNL bit where Eddie Murphy disguises himself like a white guy, then goes out in public.

" I wear a Mississippi State shirt because I graduated from State.
You wear an Alabama shirt because you went to Wal-Mart."

Ironically, she's a sidewalk Bama fan.

"Still, I believe that one day the children of our children will earn
pariah status solely for the color of their Adidas dri-fit polos."

I LOLed out loud <monk> at that.

so we are very familiar with sidewalk fans. At times it seems that's the only kind. Since Huntsville is a science and engineering town, and since Alabama doesn't have much of an engineering school, most of the fans never went to school there.<div>
</div><div>Perhaps the best example I can think of is my golf group. There are about 15 in the group, and except for me, all are die-hard UAT fans. There are no Auburn fans. And of the 15, only one that I know of graduated, or even attended, Alabama. Most didn't even go to college, but of the ones who did there are graduates of UNA (or Florence State at the time he was there), UAH, UAB, Vandy, Colorado, and Michigan. The ones who didn't attend college seem to be the biggest Alabama nuts ... complete with wearing Alabama gear every time we play, and even a few Sun Mountain Alabama golf bags (one with rare houndstooth insets on the pockets ... or at least he says it's rare). I've even been told that I "should" be an Alabama fan since I live here. And I'm sure RCD has heard the same.</div><div>
</div><div>So can anyone wonder why we ... those of us who live and work in Alabama ... consider them the team we'd most like to beat? Ole Miss is way down the list and at a level several orders of magnitude below beating Alabama.</div>

"Apparently, you only "Roll Tide" just the once. A third one creates a weird pause in the conversation's postscript (too much national title for one talk, I reckon!). But hey, lesson learned."

And really appreciate these three words that framed your entire experiment.

Only UAT, UAB, and UAH are under the University of Alabama system. They have one chancellor and each has a president. There may be some sort of higher education commission that includes Auburn, UNA, and the rest but I'm not aware of it.<div>
</div><div>UAT doesn't like that moniker, preferring to be called just the University of Alabama ... but UAT makes sense in light of the other two abbreviations. Most use it in a somewhat disparaging manner though ... which is fine.</div>
