Shedeur is still 4th string in Cleveland.

If he moves back to Boulder, heโ€™ll never have to pay for another meal. Heโ€™s a hero there - number retired, winning season, drafted, the Buffs have never had a qb of his caliber. Heโ€™s their Frazier.

Cleveland is such a loser franchise its hard to take anything they do serious. Not a Sanders fan to say the least, but 5th? On that shiddy list? We'll see.
The Browns traded out of the 2nd pick of the draft. Recouped a ton of picks which helped after they signed that sleeze Watson. Then drafted two QBs in the middle rounds, both of who are looking like busts early on. And they still have a bad offensive line.

Yeah...I watched the draft too. I watched them pass on arguably the best player in the draft and reach on Gabriel. Such a Brown set of moves.

Sanders being 5th string isn't nearly as hilarious as Kenny Pickett being listed as a Super Bowl champ.

Although, that knee he took at the end was epic!

I have heard conflicting reports. From just camp stats, he has performed well regarding completion %, TD-int ratio. But hasnโ€™t received any snaps with the 1s, and supposedly has been a bit behind coming up to speed with the offensive plan.

I think Shedeur has more NFL upside than Gabriel, but neither would look good if forced to play on a bad team as rookies. Whether they eventually make it is still to be determined, but the odds say no.

How about Kordell Stewart who was a bigger winner that played in the NFL and didn't need "daddy-ball" to tailor the team to getting him stats?

I think Shedeur absolutely could have had an NFL career if Deion would have sent him to a top program with a good head coach and OC, where he could learn to be a QB. But he's just played sandlot football the past few years, and told that everything he did was fantastic. The talent is there, but the time to coach him up has probably come and gone.

In retrospect, Kordell Stewart was an excellent college QB, as well as being known as a consumate pro and great teammate. We had otherworldly defensive matchups that made him look bad, but he seems way better than Sanders by comparison. Twitter is crazy though. For every post reporting he's 5th string, there's 10 more posts showing him throwing dots.

They hold Kordell in higher regard than Sanders I think.

But NFL teams don't want drama from their backup QB. They didn't even want to keep Tim Tebow around for that reason, and that would have been nothing compared to the reality TV series they would be getting with Shedeur.
Yeah, that would be the big issue. Being a long term backup really just means that you shut up, you don't cause issues, you are not good enough to actually PUSH the starter and you pretty much do what the coaches ask of you.

Or Darian Hagan. Shedeur went 13-12 as the starter at CU. Darian Hagan went 28-5-2, over 3 seasons, including 20-0-1 in the Big 8, while Stewart went 27-5-1. Even CU fans can do the math on who their Frazier was even if their administration can't based on whose jersey they opted to retire.

Cleveland got pressured into drafting Sha "der duh der" Sanders. He would have been available in the 7th round.

If the kid can play, steal of the entire draft...and how stupid will the Steelers look for passing on him?
Perhaps getting passed through so many rounds may have humbled him but I don't see him grabbing a spot on the 53.

Also, it blows my mind with Fidone getting drafted. The NY Giants could have saved a chunk of cash grabbing him as an UDFA.

He's starting game 1. My guess is he does OK. But who knows. I'm not super high on him but as a 4 or 5th rounder definitely worth the risk. If he can survive in Cleveland he will be just fine. Lord knows they could mess up a wet dream.

If Winston could stick around this long, donโ€™t count Sanders out to do the same.

You think Sha "der duh der" Sanders was a steal after Round 3?

If you needed a QB, and few teams needed one more than the Steelers, ya.

Even if he flamed out nobody woulda called it dumb at round 3 or 4. You gotta try something. Where else are the Steelers ever going to get an opportunity to draft or aquire a QB with no risk, like SS would been in round 4(ish).?
