Why did the NCHSAA not put them in the same playoff bracket? Shelby in the west, Reidsville in the east. Is this not the matchup we all want to see?

Not sure where you got those numbers -- it's all this year .. Shelby 827, Reidsville 723 are this year's numbers.
I think the #’s I had must have been projections, not actual enrollment. Too bad, wish there was a way to make it happen.

Was actually losing some students at the higher grade levels. Thomas Jefferson has added some pinnacle kids over the last couple of years.
I believe Bandys with 818 had the highest number in 2A. And Shelby and West Lincoln with 827 had smallest numbers in 2AA.
Simmons broke the numbers down by class (unlike NCHSAA) ...

Just gonna be honest...any reidsville fan that came early and watched Shelby knows Shelby would probably have put a running clock on reidsville this year. We stayed and watched the second game. As much as i hate to say it....it looked like 2 middle school teams. Salisbury would have given reidsville a game and beaten northeastern...burns would have beaten reidsville and northeastern....north Lincoln would have beat both as well. It was hard to watch. Best player on the field was #4 for Northeastern.

Watched a some of the Shelby game before I got bored. Cleary overmatched. None of Reidsville.
To be honest...and this will tell you how dumb I am, I have no clue where Reidsville is and always assumed it was somewhere out East. That's why I thought you guys never match up. Had no idea they were in the West.

Watched the entire Shelby game kickoff fumbled the ball salisbury had the field position the entire day just no offense at all. Give Reidsville that field position and it’s over. Quartback didn’t impress me at all even the Shelby fans in front of us said he played a game to just get bye. And he said running back wasn’t running like usually does wondering why he keeps stoping and saying somebody named Omar needs be running. They left at halftime of Reidsville game and said think y’all would have gave us a run for our money defense no joke!!!! That was from a family of Shelby even the mans wife agreed so once again people can say and predict all want just like nobody thought northeastern would be held to zero but they were. The Reidsville and Shelby prob want never happen anymore so just consider it the best two football teams in N.C. won another championship. #21 baby

Give reidsville that field position and it's over yet you only scored 14 on northeastern's defense and our defense is leaps and bounds better than Northeastern's. (-10 rushing yards).
Bess was a little off. Less than 250 yards passing for the day and missed some open shots. Definitely left some points off the board.
8 is more of a scat back and a senior. Omar #9 is a power back and a Jr. 8 did a little too much dancing.

You had no pass defense. Zero. If Northeastern could have thrown the ball a little bit they win. Shelby's WRs would have had a field day.
Any unbiased knowledgeable football fan would agree. Would love to see some unbiased opinions from people who watched both games.

With the exception of a couple of posters on our side, we are respectful of Shelby and to be very honest, the vast majority of Shelby posters a very good guys. Your just not smart if you think salisbury would give reidsville a game, west stokes was better than salisbury and rams beat them by 50. Salisbury was not good. They were predicted to lose by 35. And I'd bet my life shelby wouldnt have won by even 14. Let alone 42+

Some credit is due to the opposing defenses for that.

As a completely unbiased fan who watched both games yesterday and has no dog in the fight at all... I'd say Shelby 28-7 or 35-7. Wouldn't even surprise me if it was worse. Shelby QB and WR's would have a field day with Reidsville. It'd be like when Reidsville played E. Surry again but with more options for Shelby. If Reidsville only scored 14 pts on NE, then I don't see them fairing well against that Shelby D. I've seen Shelby 3 times this year and that was def not there best game they played yesterday. Anyways, I don't think it's that close of a game. You can tell the effects of the schedules that each of those teams chose to play and it's a big advantage Shelby. Reidsville may have more championships, but from outside of Reidsville looking in, every year that this split crap goes on it just appears as a weakened down asterisk championship for Reidsville. If there was just one 2-A champ, then Shelby's trophy case would be a whole lot bigger and Reidsvilles a lot smaller. That's just my worthless unbiased 2 cents.

Goob told me one of their quarterbacks was injured in the game, it wasn’t “many injuries”. I was the one who mentioned injuries to him. He said “no excuses, but a quarterback was injured”. Big deal, though, but stop contradicting yourself, trying to play Shelby’s domination down some in a slick and tactful way. One thread you mentioned Salisbury belong in the state title game, Shelby was just dominant, now in this thread, West Stokes was better.

Congrats to you Ray Finkle and your team, I wish I could tell you how great #11 feels but neither of us were alive when Reidsville won it's 11th but I can tell you #21 is feeling pretty dang good. Don't worry you'll get there one day. Maybe Robbinsville will let you guys take 2nd place in 7 or 8 years if you hunker down. Here's to you getting some of this Reidsville luck so it will happen. We would all love to see another Shelby / Reidsville matchup but it is probably not happening anytime soon....

Looking at both teams at the warmups I said to myself Reidsville overall looked a little small compared to all those monsters over there on the Northeastern side... The Eagles on the first drive of the game pounded the ball and moved it down the field just running right at the Ram defense.. But then those "smaller" Reidsville defenders bowed up and played lights out I thought the rest of the game... Very quick defense
Northeastern with all that size and some speed I thought theyd give the rams fits, defensively they just stacked all 11 in the box most of the night.. I told one of those very nice Reidsville fellas the same thing and kept saying the slant was open all night long..I dont recall Teague ever attempting one... A couple bombs that were a little long... I get what the Eagles were trying to do, overwhelm the smaller front of the rams offensive line, but it just didnt work and I thought the Rams could have taken more shots but just didnt...
Pinnix and 9 were impressive.. 9 was just running that rock into the teeth of the defense fighting for every single yard, hard runner... 31 all 5'5 of him in the H back spot was trying to help block that monster Freshwater , whos name I heard it seemed 50 times...
Bottom line is Shelby shut out their opponent, broke the record of the least amount of yardage given up since the "neutral site" began and Reidsville also shut out their opponent... Both defenses played outstanding... Both offenses I thought didnt play their best, but both were up against two pretty dang good defenses themselves...
It was a great day as me and my son got to spend a great day watching all these "KIDS" play this game... Made a bunch of memories.. He got bored and began wandering about the stadium taking pics where I thought "how did he get up there" but I knew it was an overall great day when we got to around Clemmons and I hear him snoring over there beside me.... ha ha ha
great day for both teams... Congrats to all the title winners and also the teams that were there playing for it all...
Good to see all my Shelby brethren even got ole Dynasty to give me a smile and a wave , and meet up again with some ole pals from reidsville and meet some new ones as well....
We all have our opinion on who would win between the two, but until we meet on the final day, its just opinion and we are all, even Dynasty , allowed to have our opinion on how it would shake out
