....suspect in custody but nothing release yet. 6 dead and they are saying it's random.

Dude literally drove around knocking on doors and shooting the people who answered. There’s a reason I answer strangers’ knocks with Glock in hand and a healthy dose of skepticism.

Same here.

It’s the opposite.

The suspect is in custody and they’re still investigating. Different crime scenes and such with a news conference scheduled for 1 pm today

WTVA plans to stream the press conference at WTVA.com/Live.
I’m seeing no national coverage of this whatsoever. You really have to search to even find it, that seems odd given the medias penchant for hyping any shooting.

Won’t be allowed. Modern psychology begs the question whether the doctor or patient is truly insane.
The real reason they won’t come back is two fold. First is the idea that mental patients should be mainstreamed and integrated into society. That idea is relatively speaking, new. Second is that states jumped all over the first one for budgetary reasons.

It happened in the middle of the night in rural Mississippi. Come on man, take your tinfoil hat off.

Edited to add: I just searched it, it’s literally on every major national outlet there is. Heck the LA Times even had something on it. You just need to crawl back in your hole. We will probably lose the basketball game tonight, I’m sure you will be back then.

Yep. Burying it.
A mass shooting of six people would normally get a lot of headlines, this story does not seem to garner the normal attention Of the national media. I think so far that is true.

Right, I looked at major news sites and Twitter, it’s not in any of the headlines, it is mentioned if you search for it.
Why would a National news site have a headline article out there when the suspect is in custody and the sheriff’s department hasn’t had a news conference about it because they’re too busy investigating the crime scenes?

That ain’t gonna happen.

The headlines come after the press conference…

Bear in mind that weekend nights are already the worst time for breaking news…

News coverage has also decreased in the past several years thanks to consolidation and technological change with Sunday newspapers being Weekend editions…

I don’t expect stories to come out in Mississippi until Monday…

Hair texture and color, along with the net worth of the victims will play a part in how much coverage the story gets nationally.
But this is a terrible tragedy for the community.

I attribute the lack of national headlines for a mass shooting in which six people were killed to the same phenemon as to why weekend shootings on Chicagos south side rarely get national coverage.

you are probably correct it will get more local coverage as the story develops, but nationally I doubt it gets the headlines it deserves.

I think we are pretty numb to such things at this point.

Man, white people have it so bad right now. Whenever we shoot six people, it gets a little bit more national media coverage than when black people do it. I’m sorry this bothers you. It really sucks being a white person in America right now. ***

Why not just ignore the knocking?
If you don't know the person and you are so scared of what may happen that feel you have to be iterally holding a gun to answer the door...just don't answer the door.
