More than likely this game will be for the conference championship.
If they play Nov 2nd as scheduled, then it will be two weeks before the first round. And if one gets a bye they want play for three weeks.

First Round: November 16th

Second Round: November 23rd

Third Round: November 30th

Regionals: December 7th

State Championships: December 14th – 15th (changed from December 8th)

I'm pretty sure that week will only be for teams that have had games canceled due to Florence. Imo it would be classless for them to play the game that week unless they get a rain out on the 2nd.

Why would it be classless?
It’s not disrespecting any other team. Sure what happened on the East Coast is devastating.
But for the West team’s to delay there last game for one week is not classless.
Do you realize there will be 32 team’s from the West that don’t play a game for three weeks?

Some will get 2 weeks without a game. It is what it is. It wont hurt anyone. As I've said I am pretty sure the week will only be used for make up games from Florence. Its not for teams to take advantage of the system. Just remember while East Surry and Mount Airy have been able to practice and play the last 2 weeks, many teams haven't been able to touch a football in that time. Either team will be ok.

I don't think anyone is trying to be insensitive to the situation of folks in the east, but that doesn't mean teams in the west should be potentially punished for the situation that has arisen. If teams are willing and both agreeable, I don't see anything wrong with moving the Nov.2nd games to Nov.9 (especially for 1A and 4A where the top teams would get byes and go 3 weeks between games). If there weren't 1st round byes in play, I'd say keep all games originally scheduled for Nov.2nd as such, but the 1st round byes completely change things.

Teams with byes in the 1st round will beat down whomever they play in 2nd round most likely. A 1 seed wont come out rusty and lose to an 8 seed in the 2nd round. Could benefit them to heal up some injuries.

People view things differently. Have heard some complain that a team playing the first week (all 2A-3A and half of 1A-4A) will get an advantage by having the prior week open. One coach that will be forced to play that Friday told me it would show a sign of solidarity if teams tried to play their games the last week. Go figure. Personally I have zero issue with a school not hindered by the storm rescheduling or staying on their initial slate.

So far there is no ruling against teams moving games to this date. The season just has an extra week to schedule games. That may change but I doubt it. The I Meck Conference in northern Meck County and Iredell County has changed their schedule to make this the last week of the season. The original final Friday is now an open date for all in that conference.

Completely disagree. Any team that takes 3 weeks off from game action (especially heading into the playoffs) will be rusty, regardless of talent level. Theoretically a top seed shouldn't lose their first game, but you're discounting that the 1st rd games have culled the weaker teams. Yes, the rest would be beneficial, but I guarantee no coach would willingly want to take 3 weeks off before playing a playoff game.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. The only drawback might be if someone is injured and has less time to heal. One advantage is that it would be the only game in the area. Fans from several schools could watch the conference championship decided. It would be a finically bonus for the home team.
