Well thank god, because I have it on good accord that if we had lost by 30 it would have been unacceptable.
I wonder how people will react if we get bounced early in the SEC tourney and NCAA tourney next year.

“Give Pope three years”?

UK losing by 30 in March is unacceptable.

I don’t care who is injured or out.

No excuse
I understand the frustration. I hate it when UK teams lose in any sport. I bleed blue and always have. Alabama is really, really good. It’s hard enough to beat them this season with a healthy team. We had no point guard, and Carr isn’t healthy. Oweh got the hell knocked out of him and had to get stitches so I’d say he felt like ****. I don’t foresee this being a common occurrence and I think that we will see a lot better basketball team next season. I know when Pope gets a chance, he better run the score up on that arrogant *** oats,

Add Alabama, Auburn and UConn going down in flames and I’m right there with you.
I'd also say KU, Louisville and the Cheats but at least we know we don't have to worry about those turds.

And let's keep TNs 100+ years streak of never making a FF alive by God.

It is very real with your best players hurt. That's like like saying the Noel team should have won it all when he tore his ACL.
Love these dudes, I’m not even blaming them, I just think if you’re Kentucky, you shouldn’t be getting beat this bad in March. The standard needs to remain high.

I agree, and I think in general, it’s been a pretty damn good year. Enjoyed the games and the fire and enthusiasm pope has brought back to BBN.

Ok big guy. Thanks for your opinion. Now put the alcohol up, back away from the keyboard, take a deep breath and relax.

If you can condescend this way to people having this opinion now, are they also allowed to save your post and bring it back up when/if things don't improve?

You have my permission to bring any and all of mine out as long as you get the few good ones along with the stupid ones.
Figuring out if the program will get better or not based on what happened in this year of entire new team and all these injuries is kind of a lost cause, isn't it????

Let's see what a season of relative health looks like first, then maybe we have a more realistic baseline to go with.

And yeah...you can save and repost mine next season.

I'm not actually the sort to do that (it's beyond weird to save and retrieve posts - I may have made some dumbass posts in my day but I've NEVER bumped an ancient thread because that's a weird freak thing to do).

I'm really just making a point...that if we're going to go at each other instead of the opposition then it should be done fairly both ways.

What I REALLY think is that there is plenty of fair criticism for Pope this season regardless of the injuries and to call people out for being impure UK fans if they think that is ridiculous.

Really? So you’re happy with the game, effort and result?

I don’t like lowering the bar. Just saying.
absolutely happy with the effort..... our guys were exhausted... Williams was worn out in the first half... the guy sprinted back after every UK miss to defend..... a big man..... geez dude.. did you even pay attn to the game?....

no reason to call out anyone for being impure UK fans.... that's very hard to judge... it's not hard to judge someones idiotic posts to critique a team playing with 2 starters out because of injuries and one position having to use a 4th string freshman to run the PG position. Come on buddy.....

That's fair enough...and I agree that any coach including Pope has areas for observation and critique...no coach has missed that. Remember Pitino not guarding the Grant Hill to Laetner pass????

My biggest head scratcher for Pope has been the sub pattern. Not only timing but personnel. I'm sure if he sat down in a room with us and dumbed it down he would explain it...but it likely would make zero difference. I'm also not sure he is a great motivator on the defense. How much of that is him and how much is the personnel healthy enough to play I couldn't tell you.

All in all what I'm getting at is this season was step one and I believe we have to wait until next season to see a better picture.

Could have been worse. Cal would have had us playing on Wednesday and losing on Thursday.

We just lost to a team with all their major guys back from a Final Four run.

Established team with an established coach.

Give Pope a full year at least before you run him off.

It’s not like we were coming off a championship last year and just lost in the first round of the NIT to Robert Morris.

I agree that our team was playing 'with one hand tied behind their back'. But the result destroyed the old belief that 'it's very hard to beat a team 3 times in one season'!!!! Losing to a football school on our home floor, on their court (badly), and on a neutral site (massacre) is demoralizing. Again, we all know the circumstances but it's very hard to accept as lifelong fans! Praying for healthy players and some wins next week.

I look at it this way. What would bama football fans think if we beat them by 30 in October?

It ain’t gonna happen and never should this.

Bama is a final four team, we aren't

I figured we would lose but not by that margin. Everyone should be able to see what happens when you lose a pg...we blew a 12 point kead without one the night before

It's due to injuries. It's our largest sec tournament loss ever (17 previously) but who cares.

The ncaa tournament is what matters.
