Should Ross Mitchell still be in the game?

I know he's still going strong, but he's already pitched 5 innings and we have a 6 run lead. Is there nobody else that we trust with a 6 run lead against Memphis? We should be saving Ross for this weekend against Vandy. Lord knows we're probably going to need him.

He shouldn't have thrown this many. I said I was fine with Mitchell starting as long as it didn't mean Ross throwing 5 innings.

Hes basically out except for maybe Sunday.

Disagree....

R. Mitchell could pitch twice this weekend if we wanted him to. Guys like him that aren't hard throwers can throw lots and lots of pitches.

Ross should not have gone more than 2 innings. We have a whole bullpen that needs time on the mound and we squandered a perfect opportunity to give them quality time on the mound.

Well, Jim just said he only threw 59 pitches. Still, hard to see him throwing much on Friday if we need to protect a lead.

It sucks wasting your best reliever against Memphis in the midweek. We play the #2 team in the nation this weekend and our best reliever is burned for probably at least the first two games because he had to throw 6 innings against Memphis on Tuesday. We've got so many other relievers who could get outs against Memphis. Use them. Hell, LSU used 10 pitchers in a midweek win over Grambling last week. We've got Girodo, Gentry, Cox, Fitts, Bracewell and Shelly who need some innings. But instead we've got Ross Mitchell tossing 6 innings against Memphis. I hope it doesn't come back to bite us this weekend.

It's not that Ross threw pitches... but we have a whole bullpen of guys who need time on the mound... because we will need them down the stretch. I can kind of understand why they elected to use Ross because this was a pretty key win for us and Evan had a terrible start... but Cox, Girodo, Gentry, Fitts, Bracewell could have used a lot more time than they got out there tonight to try to build them up.
