Should they privatize the lofts in left field?

Do you think it would be beneficial to allow a successful developer from Mississippi build and own the condos on like a 30 year lease? Would this help us financially to be able to deck out the rest of the stadium in high end finishes or would we lose too much revenue this way?

The opposition would say 'highest bidder eac year'. I'd say go with something less than a 30 yr lease.

I may be out of touch but I'm not sure they will regularly sell out at 50k a year plus.

The demand may be there but not from my survey of 3 folks that would be able to pay it (all 3 top 20 lifetime donors) and are avid baseball fans. The summary opinion was "I'm not paying 5 grand a month for a rental but I'd pay a fortune to own one."

The Skybox cost is supposedly virtually doubling also. From 20k or 25k to 40k. Or something similar.

Ive heard 25k - 30k a year. Nobody will pay 50k to "rent" a 1000 sf condo on campus. You could BUY a home, just as close to campus, and pay it off in 6 or so years for that. It doesnt make financial sense.

The number is closer to 25k. It isnt 50k.

If we're really going to sell sky boxes for $40k, I wouldn't be shocked to see the lofts go for that much, if the viewing area from the lofts is set up right. The sky boxes would obviously be a better atmosphere during the game, but the lofts would give people a place to stay 12 months a year. At the very worst, use it for baseball season like a sky box and then rent it out each football weekend to recoup some of your costs.

tell that to the idiots who pay $175,000 for a sugar shack at the Neshoba County Fair to stay at 2 weeks out of a year.

The new renovation proposals of DNF has similar characteristics of Wrigley field. I would love to see rooftop access to the condos. This would be cool to see people on top. Be a cool place to see the game too.

Make them into athletic dorms for the baseball team. This will ensure we will be able to sign whoever we want regardless of the draft and that there will be a plethora of beautiful women on the balconies for every game.

I too have concerns about them being empty. If they SOLD them... Well I think they could get north of $300k per. Sell them and then charge HOA's.

Call the BDC to see how much the lofts were...

how does the number of lofts in the new design compare

to the number of setups/people who were in the left field lounge? bidding wars aren't always a bad thing.
