Dawg 61, I understand your thinking, but this shows that you know very little about how baseball and pitching works. Now, I think it is important that we don't over extend a pitcher in this tournament. I think that what we did with Stratton today by letting him go 6 innings and 90 something pitches was just perfect. Keeping pitchers healthy is all about keeping them in a rhythm and in a routine. This keeps their arms strong, healthy, and stuff sharp. If we gave them 9 days off, then it would take them out of their routine, and thus make their stuff less sharp. 9 days off really wouldn't help add mphs to the fastball or make their arms healthier. <div>
</div><div>That being said, I do think it would be counter productive to over extend a guy and go into the 120 pitch mark in trying to win this tournament. </div>
