They are televising it. They pay for the rights to the Yankees that covers the payout.
Yes but the Yankees run it, so they have the final say. Lots of bowls are 100% run by ESPN, which in that case i’d agree with you, it’s what ESPN wants.
Yanks are 99.9% taking Rutgers. As I’ve said it’s a no brainer for the bowl

Which ones? We have probably been to at least one of them. Great little city for restaurants. Endless list of great places.
No idea how good their sources are but the Athletic has us in the Pinstripe against Duke.

Hmmm...I wonder if I could make the Guaranteed Rate Bowl and go back to Phoenix (attended Insight Bowl as a RU senior).
Current plan is to go to Virginia to visit my wife's family that week.
I'll fly out Christmas night to Phoenix. Attend the game Tuesday.
Fly back Wednesday directly to Virginia.
Wife can drive down (with both kids) on Tuesday.
Maybe I'll bring the 8yo to the game and let my wife and daughter deal with themselves.

Been to them both. I met the chef/owner at our last time at the Chop House. He said he was from Jersey. Nice guy, and good food at the Chop House. Rotten Johnny's is good for pickup.
They can't take a 5-7 team over a 6-6 or 7-5 team. No way Minnesota is available for these guys. Would either be us or Northwestern. Minnesota likely headed to Detroit. Think:

*** the only ones I could possibly see being flip-flopped, as of now, are RU and NW (which is a long-shot, but, you never know...the people in Phoenix loved us last time...).
