Adidas is going to get into the Nike Pro Combat-type business, and start providing special things to certain schools (e.g. TCU's new cleats today)

I saw this earlier this season. Notre Dame and someone else were given the new jerseys (no seams) in like the 7th game to test them out.

I have a bunch of freshmen football players in my courses, and they tell me that the university where I teach loses players because our contract is with Russell ("low rent") instead of Nike or Adidas. Sad but apparently it is a big deal.
