Sidney on the court makes Moultrie a better player...

I know we give Sidney hell here and many of us think Sidney is a over weightclown however coaches know if that fat as puts his mind to it he can play and they have to respect that and if they leave his *** unguarded he is going to hurt them. This keeps them from doubling upon Moultrie. We need all five ofour starters and I think if Hood doesn't go down we would have won the KY game and with sidney in the Auburn game we would have won that one. I don't think we would have beaten Alabama regardless but the gamewould have been closer. I will give kudos to Sidney for the past two games. I don't think we win them with out him.

where I notice him is rebounding. <div>
</div><div>And speaking of Sidney, what's the word on next year? Is he planning to come back? I can't imagine him getting drafted.</div>

is take a big man out of the paint and force him to guard him at the FT line. Not many teams in the country that can defend Moultrie with one of their big men outside the paint.

RSS takes the pressure off of Moultrie and lets him move. RSS threat as a spot shooter outside helps clean out the lane as well. I did LMAO when RSS tried the spin move up and under and hit the bottom of the rim. Granted he was fouled, but he doesnt have the agility to get that to go in.

had those high-low plays working early in the game, Arkansas was just plain lost. I wish we'd try to get that kind of stuff going a lot more. It's very tough on defenses at the best of times, and when you have two guys as good and as big as the two of them it's plain unstoppable.

It's also good to see Sidney finally coming out to cut off the guards off ball screens. We got hurt a few times because he didn't get back to his man in time, but it's great to see the effort there. If he comes back next year and keeps improving on the effort he's displayed the last several games, we might actually be decent.

I'd like to see the plus-minus stat on Lewis. Seems like our offense stalls with him in the game... and I guess for good reason.<div>
</div><div>No doubt that Sidney just being out there commands respect from the defense and can open things up for everyone else. Lewis... eh, just make sure you don't give him a wide open dunk and he's no threat.</div>

Sid should come back next year but probably won't because perception is 9/10 reality and his perception is he is a pro so he will try it and will be a career Euro. Also, some team will draft him, it may be late second round but he will get drafted, not saying he makes an NBA roster but he will get drafted.<div>
We are better with Sid on the floor because people are forced to guard him but the ball screen by Sidney bothers me because the ball handler always gets doubled because the defense knows he is not going to roll to the basket and instead pop out to the 3-point line and he might even hit that three 1/3 of the time but if I am defending that I take that shot over the roll to the basket any day of the week and he simply gives it to them every time.</div><div>
</div><div>I might be one of the few Sidney "fan/supporters" left but that is the one thing that bothers me about him.</div>

when he works. I can't stand watching him walk up the court. When he plays hard he is a great player. He just takes way too many plays off. I will say this though, his defense has improved tremendously since last year.

because they're NEVER looking for that pass; they seem to think the ball screen is just to get them space. Sid rolls to the basket sometimes but most of the time I'm sure he thinks he might as well just pop because he's not going to get the pass anyway. I also don't mid him shooting 3's either as long as it's a good look because he's our highest-percentage 3-point shooter.

in the SEC? Just sayin'... I think implying the SEC assists leader doesn't pass the ball is a little far fetched...

as long as he'd look for the other option off ball screens once in a while. The instance that bothers me the most is when it's run with Wendell. He cuts hard to the basket every time and is usually unguarded, and Dee's not even looking for him. It frustrates me because that's one of the only situations that would enable Wendell to contribute offensively.

If Bost passed it to Wendell in that situation, one of the following would happen:

A: Lewis would aligator chomp at the ball as it bounced off his forearm out of bounds
B: Lewis would catch the ball and then take 3 steps and get called for travelling
C: Lewis would catch the ball and dribble it off his foot out of bounds
D: Lewis would catch the ball and take 6 seconds to bring it up from his waist and get stripped
E: Lewis would miss the layup

I mean you're definitely not without reason for saying that, but Wendell usually does the right thing when he gets the ball on the move facing the basket. But that's for the most part the ONLY time he does the right thing, hence why I'd at least like to see it attempted.

or any big man rolling to the basket (we don't get it to Sidney or Moultrie much, either) will open up the offense more because it forces them to respect the fact that we could look to the roller moving to the basket. That's why pick and rolls work, especially in the NBA. It also forces the defense to switch underneath or stay close to the big man because if he gets an open look and he's left open (which Wendell is ALL the time), he can get a cheap basket. If all we are going to do is use it as a glorified screen, why bother worrying about the guy rolling to the basket if we are going to ignore it, why bother screening? The defense will play the guard much more aggressively by switching over the top or driving on the guard to drive him off the screen like Arkansas did.
