I am worse. I planned a bunch of stuff to do after the game just in case.

Well, um, actually a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

I'm supposed to grill with some bear friends that night. I might not want to attend if we drop it...

I think their chance of losing saturday is just as good as ours. after watching their replay last night I give UTEP a pretty good chance to win.

Nice to know that other State fans know exactly how I feel.......

The feeling after losing to them last year was unbearable. I didn't care to watch football for the rest of the day or the next week.

Last year, we had my daughter's fifth birthday party going on during the Aubarn game, which sucked, because I had to keep ducking into my study to check the action on the PC.

I'd prepared for the worst by buying two cases of beer for the event--assuming the possibility of bitter disappointment. This was not an assembly of drinkers at this party, mind you, but I myself speak fluent Bolivian, so I typically reserve multiple avenues of escape from sobriety to deal with this type of disappointment.

It was totally inappropriate, and the beer sat in that cooler mostly untouched, other than what I drank.

Hell, I'm not even a beer drinker, but 11am is too goddamned early to start drinking whisky and maintain respectability.

My father-in-law, a HUGE sidewalk bear fan, was in attendance, and I couldn't deal with the prospect of his fake sympathy.

One of the fondest memories of my adult life was when I watched the FL @ State game in 2000 on CBS--with my father-in-law--and we beat that 17'n ***. He cheered as he ate himself up inside.

The look of fake enthusiasm on his face that day was a priceless memory I'll treasure until I die.

For this weekend, I have both DVRs ready to record and NO VISITORS.
