Have been seeing a lot of chatter about booing this Saturday. Dumbest **** you could possibly do. This is a HUGE recruiting weekend for us, not to mention an absolutely crucial game for our season. Since this board is read by thousands who sit in different spots throughout the stadium:

By replying to this thread, I pledge to not be a complete 17ing douchbag, and boo at the game this Saturday, unless it is at the ref, or we are down 50 pts. I also pledge to deal with any douchebags booing around me in any manner I see necessary to haultsaid booing douchebaggery, whether it be by cowbell, friendly request, or death threats.

If you don't think you can refrain from booing because you think you are a better coach than Mullen, I beg you to please sell your ticket to somebody with half a 17ing brain.

if Mullen starts Relf and its one of the reasons I think he should probably start Russell and then bring Relf in if needed. We apparently have at least some fans that think its cool to boo our own players and coaches if they don't agree with every move made but given the huge recruiting weekend this would be a terrible time to have that happen.

because we have a newborn. Anyone that boos regardless of the circumstances (unless we get hosed by the refs) should be punched in the 17ing throat.

I was definitely in heated conversation with fans around me trying to figure out why in the heck we weren't trying to win the game in regulation.

if mullen would have tried to win the game in regulation against La Tech and Relf throws a pick six- then you could have bitched about that. good thing about coaches is they always give MFers something to ***** about, so their miserable lives seem so much better.

and I don't really care who we start as long as they execute well... there's good reasons for starting both of them, so I'll trust the coach, who gets paid ridiculous sums of money to make that decision, to make that decision...

such as "if Relf starts," there are some reasons that usually warrant it:
  • Running up the middle for -1 yards for the 10th time, causing another 3 and out.
  • Kneeling on the ball with plenty of time before half, while down by at least 2 touchdowns.

if Relf plays at all, even if Russell throws several picks and puts it on the ground multiple times, so I guess he'll be booing. Another poster takes great pride in his booing and is looking forward to a booing opportunity.

Don't know what you can do about people like that.

..First, I have always been amazed that somebody on the Internet always thinks he/she can use a messageboard to curb, curtail & commandeer the behavior of 55,000 people. Someday, a psychologist needs to release a research paper on this specific brand of delusion.

Second, if the MSU football team does not want to be booed, there is a simple solution: Stop playing like ****.

and it's not to try to curb, curtail, or commandeer the behavior of 55,000 people. I imagine 52,000have some common sense. It's to try and interject a little commom sense in the other 3,000, and I really should have been more specific. If Relf starts, and the stadium starts booing, it's going to result in an absolute *** whippinig, and make uslook like complete **** in front of several big time recruits.

If the refs hose us, we run the clock out with plenty of time to try and move into scoring posistion, we don't use time outs, we get our *** beat at home and the game is over, I don't really have an issue with booing. But like I said, if Relf gets booed before he runs out on the damn field, that **** won't fly.

Just like it's a fans right to boo since they bought a ticket, it's my right to try and prevent it or deal with it how I see fit when it does. I don't like for others to make me look bad. I can do that all by myself.

...if you are comparing the current ineptitude of Mullen & his football team to the numerous screw-ups you see in a typical 3rd grade play, then that's probably a fair comparision.

I will say this: I played football, watched football & through many years I've had many conversations about football. Before the invention of the Internet, nobody within any football culture anywhere gave a second thought to booing.

Not once did I ever have a conversation about booing.

This whole booing topic is a phenomenon exclusive to the Internet.

Nobody had ever offered an in-depth analysis about booing until the Internet came along.

Therefore I find this whole booing kerfuffle to be ridiculous.

If I see ******** on the field, I'm going to boo. It's that simple. And I'm not going to attempt to lecture anybody on the finer points of booing etiquette.

the internet has changed a lot of things. It wasn't too long ago, you didn't know **** about what was going on with recruiting until the mf'ers showed up on campus. You know what changed all of that? The internet.

I will say this: I played football, watched football & through many years I've had many conversations about football.

Wow! No ****? You and 95% of this board.

Lastly, did you seriously use the word "kerfuffle?" How many times have you used that word in your many conversations about football? I would hope this is the first. So there's 2 firsts for you today Ronny, and all thanks to the internet.

I will not lie though. I booed like a mother17er at the end of regulation in the La. Tech game, but that was more a cultivation of frustration with the entire **** show our coaches and team had put on up to that point. Also, I was still frustrated with how we laid down at the end of the LSU game. That still pisses me off when I think about it.It was the first time I truly doubted Mullen's abilities.

No boos this weekend though. I'll just roll with whatever happens. I'm dead inside as far as football is concerned this year anyway.

We boo in almost every home game now. When we boo, it means nothing anymore except that the douche bag State fans are at it again.

There is absolutely no chance that booing will help us in any way. There is a chance, however, that it will hurt us. If we only our fans could pull together in cheering the way that we boo, we may actually have some decent crowd noise for once.
