Silver helmets for the Gator Bowl?

Just stay consistent. Let's not get cute. The black jerseys have not workd.
And for all those that like the white helmet.... forget about it. The current maroon color is perfect!

It just brings back bad memories.
The black jerseys just need a cupcake game to get going. So, I say wear black against UT-Martin, and if we lose that game, burn them.

would be sweet... I've always loved the all whites with maroon masks.... They look tight and other teams do it all the time and make me wish we'd go back every now and then. I know everybody hates them because of the Sylvester days but the all white and all maroon uniforms are sleek...
I could see the silver jerseys being pretty sweet. I don't buy the whole black jerseys don't work crap. Look at the opponents' combined record. That's why we lost. Well that, bad tackling, and interceptions.
not to mention when we wore black in bball and got beat by UK in a heart-breaker...damn. I hate the black uni's but I also like the black uni's if we could just get a W in some sport with them.
I realize its way too late this time, but why dont we start using the unis from the 99' - 00' season for bowl games. It would appease many of us who think these are the best ones weve ever worn and would be a cool tradition for a bowl, sporting some semi throwback uniforms. And dont suggest it hurts our brandname to change uniforms all the time. The bears, patriots, etc. dont seem to be doing to bad when they change to their retros. Hell, id even rather once or twice a season doing this instead of the black jerseys.
Think this would look good if you added black grids to the background over the silver & under the logo. Something that would look a lot like those Oregon & TCU helmets that did something similar. Give the base color more of a "carbonized steel" look rather than silver.ChillbillyDawg said:
I like the retro uniform- heck, I've even suggested that we go that direction for homecoming with the uniforms from 1969 with the flying-M helmet, but I can't see NIKE and Adidas getting along with us wanting to do that.
Def like the carbonized steel look of the one on the right. Would add some subtle "texture" onto the background, darkening it a bit more. Perhaps small black paw-prints or small bulldogs or small "interlocking MSU logos, as circa 1981 or so. For that matter, you could simply cover the base background with dozens of small, black current "M-State" logos.<div>ChillbillyDawg said:

</div><div>Now that I think of it, what I think would look bad-*** is the carbon-steel look just as you have it, incluidng the maroon logo, but add to it a ferocious-looking snarling bulldog whose head come to the front, jaws gaping at the facemask, body partially obscured by the M-State logo, but clearly visible over the top and back of the logo.
