compare our team to Tebow's NC team. I know there's a lot more guys on here smarter with better memories than I. Sorry if Germans

I would prefer not to lose to the bears.

I would say they are similar teams very physical on both sides of the ball with more than a few offensive weapons and a stout defense.

Me too. Defensively is our front 7 better and their secondary was better? I really think Dak is a better passer than Tebow with Tebow getting more playing time at this point in their careers

Going for the very early comparisons, I see.
Besides Tebow, Brandon Spikes was by far their next best player as far as accolades. They had 2 All-SEC OL, 2 All-SEC DL, a couple of solid CBs, plus threat-from-anywhere Percy Harvin and return magic man Brandon James to go along with a slew of impressive freshmen that included Demps and Rainey at RB. Then you throw in juniors Riley Cooper and Aaron Hernandez catching passes as well.

Generally speaking, they have us beat on special teams, and it isn't close.

Our RB corps is better just because of our RBs being veterans, and at this point in their careers Robinson is head and shoulders above anyone else on either roster. Edge to us.
We have a nice receiving corps, but there are 2 future NFL all-pros and another NFL starter on their side. Huge edge to them.
They have 5 future NFL OL on their 2-deep. I see a couple on ours, but 5? Edge to them for the moment.

On D, they have 5 more future NFL players in the secondary. Huge edge to them.
At LB, they have Spikes. Big edge to us.
On the DL, most of their talent is on DE. 3 of their 4 on the 2-deep will play in the NFL. None of their DTs have that I can tell. We appear to have 2 high picks at the moment, and a couple more with NFL potential. It's at least a push, and maybe a slight edge to us.

If these teams played, I'd expect their receiving corps to eat us up while pounded away at them in them middle. Special teams would give them an edge.

Bottom line, they have around 17 guys who will see the field in the NFL on their roster. I don't see that many on our squad. I think we might be in double digits, but 17? That was a ton of talent.

Cannot deny Tebow was a great college QB. No doubt.

But DAK throws the ball 200% better than Tebow ever did/will and is only getting better at it.

He is not 'another' Cam or Manziel like the media loves to say. He is, however, the first DAK and before he is finished his name will be mentioned in the same company.

Actually, Tebow 66.4% and Dak 59.2% but Tebow is way ahead on yards per catch...

One of the analysts compared Dak to Donovan McNabb. I think he's a combo of Tebow and Cam....he may be quicker than Tebow but not as fast as Cam...I don't know about McNabb...never heard of him until NFL and I couldn't care less about the NFL.

The biggest keys to that team were the TEs-

This is where the idea started that Meyers/Mullen's offense depended on the TE. I think in reality they just built that offense around their players.
But there is no comparison between that team and this one, sorry. That is considered one of the most talented college teams in history.

Surprised it took someone this long to say this. I'd take 2007 UF 35-21 if we played our absolute best and most people would say I'm being biased I'm sure.

Bo Wallace 65%, Peyton Manning 63%. Thus Bo Wallace throws a better ball than Peyton Manning.**

Completion percentage does not equal throwing ability.

Donovan McNabb is a decent comp but I think Dak runs better than Donovan but Donovan throws a little better. To me, Dak's comp is Kordell Slash Stewart.

Looking at Ole Miss' record that year, they were 2-2 heading into the Swamp, and then followed up the big upset over the Gators with 2 consecutive losses in a row immediately afterwards. I just have to wonder....how on earth did Tim Tebow's finest team lose at home to these guys?

The system being run is a significant factor. How many screens and short passes are being run?

Maybe I overlooked it in the thread here, but I don't see many people talking about the O-Lines of those UF teams. The Pouncey twins both are still in the NFL I think. They had a great OL.
