Since no one else will ... Cherokee vs Swain

Cherokee has a 1200+ capable RB and a dangerous WR. QB is not Ty Mintz but has racked up 800+ yards so he’s no scrub. I think they have more options than Swain but it is a rivalry and back in 07, Cherokee was supposed dispatch the Devils only to be upset. Now that’s apple to oranges, different venue but can’t take your brakes off in these games.

If our boys show up like swain suppose to lay down mixed with sour taste from last year it could be bad for us!!! Hope our boys feel like there at tha bottom tryin to fight there way out!!!
Why do I have tha feelin that if it was suppose to be a lopsided win towards tha other half of our state championship team then we'd be hearin how they've mastered tha art of football!!
Cherokee by 14 but they better be ready to play. I have always felt Swain was the best team in the SMC for winning a game when on paper they shouldn't win.
Haha if Citizen-Times picks the game they’ll have Cherokee by 4.....they picked a team by 4 last week! Safeties wins games!

Well I waited till after the game to post because I was not sure which team would show up tonight. Swain wins 43-28
Special thanks to the Maroon Machine crowd at Cherokee tonight. Great team effort and not taking anything away from Cherokee. They have a talented team. Seemed to me that they relied too much on the big play tonight and not enough patience on offense. That was the difference. Swain was patient and sustained longer drives and throw in some big runs when we needed it. Quality win on an opponent home field. Good luck to cherokee this season. I think they can still cause some damage vs Robbinsville and potentially Murphy. If they stay focused and work hard.

anyone think choctaw qb transfer would have given braves a better chance to win? i know there was a qb battle earlier in the year and they rotated week 1 before choctaw transfer qb got hurt. I havent seen choctaw qb play bc i didnt go to week 1 game...just asking for braves fans opinions
After letting my feelings calm down what a disappointment . We just quit in the 3rd qtr. why we don’t get the ball to Mintz I’ll never know . The Choctaw kid has a cannon and makes good descisions . I personally think he gives us the best shot. Hats off to Swain and their crowd played very emotional and 25 and 22 are a tough combo . Seemed odd seeing Swain in shotgun most of the night . If we don’t change some things we won’t beat anyone good .

Swain Co. ended with 424 total offensive yards and were led by Bryce Sain, sophomore running back, who carried the ball 17 times for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns. Damian Lossiah, sophomore quarterback, rushed 28 times for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns and he completed 2 of 3 passes for 67 yards and 1 touchdown.

I just review the act article. Not really sure what the article was referring to for containing him. Sain only had four carries in the first half. 90% of the plays he was used as a decoy and faked too. Cherokee kicked away from him all night. In the second half it looked to me he had three big runs 80yd td, 14yd td but also a 21yd and several 10yd runs. Two others called back for ghost flags. Got facemasked bad and helmet ripped off on fourth and goal and it was a no call. That should have been first and goal at the one. But instead cherokee took over on downs.
Damien did a good with designed reads and he did a good job with play action passing. Pretty pass for a TD in the first half. Seems to be gaining some experience and confidence that is needed in that position. People forget this is only his sixth game as a qb. It’s all about improving as a team and getting ready for some big games.
Got to give it to Swain this was a total team effort! Especially those big boys up front!

Any chance we see choctaw qb transfer in the future play? does he play other positions or just backup qb at the moment?
Believe just back up QB!! Seriously not sure if will see more or not!! Ain't really sure of tha motive but he came up for his senior year!!
i cant speak for the young man....i dont even know his name....just always heard him referred to as choctaw transfer...but Im sure his motive was to come start for a defending state champion. Not ride the bench behind crowe who doesnt appear to be that great of a qb in my opinion. Shame transfer got hurt in game 1....wonder if crowe really won the job or coaches just more comfortable with him bc he was on last years team? hope to see them mix things up....im sure crowe will look fine vs rosman and andrews...but against swain robbinsville murphys best man should be starting. Ive never seen choctaw transfer play i just heard the rumors of him looking impressive and athletic so i would like to see them put him in.
They should make the switch now so the qb will have time to warm up vs rosman and andrews. Instead of probably being thrown to wolves when crowe is throwing interceptions vs robbinsville. Whichever qb is the better all around athlete and resembles ty mintz the most...should be playing....and from what ive heard the transfer resembles him more than crowe.
We see all this all the time. Look at college football Alabama changes QBs wins a championship, Clemson decided to play the better player it sucks but it’s football. Gotta have the best player out there. The only issue I have with some of it is Crowe has been apart of the program his entire career I think Choctaw kid transferred from obviously bad team in hopes of riding the coattails of a better team. The Kevin Durant syndrome in doing so he puts pressure on Crowe whose numbers aren’t bad....I guess what I am getting at is I just feel bad for the Crowe kid. It is a football decision and it is not about hurting a kid but giving your team the best shot. Idk I couldn’t say I’d be any different if my Knights had a better option at QB to play. I’m just thinking Crowe has earned some loyalty from the coaches and maybe that’s why no change. I see from y’all that the Choctaw kid is more mobile and has arm talent but I am sure some parents might not take too kindly to a transfer replacing one of their own. But who knows I leave that for Cherokee I am just throwing out my 2 cents best of luck to the Braves!
There is no place for loyalty in football....as a fan and not a parent all i care about is winning. Im sure crowe is an outstanding individual. If switching qbs gets u more wins and further in the playoffs im sure the mamas and daddys will get over it.....getting hurt screwed the transfer and made coaches decision easy. I hope they make the switch before its too late.
