That they are not ashamed to admit that they would rather make money than enforce their own rules, I hope the father of every kid with a D1 offer is working the phones (unbeknownst to their sons of course) letting each coach know how much it's gonna take to land their son. What a farce this has become. I won't be happy until auburn's football program is on par with that of Memphis. I hope The Chiz gets herpes on his syphilis and crabs on his genital warts.

If I was a school with a horrible football program - let's use Memphis as an example - I'd just decide it's time to get good and keep doing exactly what Auburn and some of the other schools have done (ala Ohio State as well) and if they get caught and penalized, just finally file the class action lawsuit for discriminatory practices.

If you're Memphis football, what would you have to lose?

I would love for you to explain the intricacies of such a lawsuit.
Wait...let me help you out...that's not a sustainable cause of action.

believe if it had been us in Auburn's shoes with Cam he would have ever played a down for us? He would have been declared ineligible so fast it would have spun Cecil's bank book out of his pocket. The investigation would STILL be going on as to his eligibility. The sanctions on would just be getting started.

I do think if Auburn hadn't been in the national title hunt and Cam a Heisman candidate that he might still have been declared ineligible at the time. But there was too much riding on AU for that to happen.

I like to believe anyway that if they had been 4-2 at the time or whatever that more would have come of it.

Spilled milk - time to move on.

Unless more facts are presented, it is time to move on. While we all feel sure that some violations took place, it is not meant for AU to receive penalties.

The real black helicopter speculation, is why nothing has been found.
  • Auburn, meaning the staff & boosters, knows how to secretly "do the deal"
  • Mike Slive is protecting AU, as he would do for the other top 6 SEC teams.
  • There is someone in the NCAA, that wants this case closed.

While I shrug my shoulders in disbelief, I'll leave the conspiracy in the capable hands of the paranoid ones in the MEGATHREAD.

then yes. And since apparently we were the only school willing to report or testify that Cecil was shopping Cam around there wouldn't have been anyone turning us in anyway.

Cam might have had to sit a game or two. I don't think the NCAA would have done anything, but I think Slive would have been able to enforce the SEC bylaws more freely. Asking him to suspend Newton right before the SEC-CG was just too much.
