MS is a football state. Go look at your local HS and compare the football stadium and the baseball stadium. Heck look at Davis Wade and Dudy Noble.Do you enjoy being a loser? I enjoy winning in at least one sport. And MS is a baseball state.

Bruh you need to get out more. Georgia is a football state. Texas is a football state. Alabama is a football state. Mississippi is…..not.MS is a football state. Go look at your local HS and compare the football stadium and the baseball stadium. Heck look at Davis Wade and Dudy Noble.
When Dudy Noble seats more than 50K and HS baseball outdraws HS football get back to me. Football is king here just like it is nearly everywhere else.Bruh you need to get out more. Georgia is a football state. Texas is a football state. Alabama is a football state. Mississippi is…..not.
That said, it could have been, if we’d only had one major university. But now, MS’ best are always looking to leave. As a result the infrastructure here is not as robust as other states. I could see an argument to be made that MS is an athletic state in general, but the only sport where that materializes for instate success is baseball. Like it or not the college performance is linked to the reputation.
We’ve won 2 national titles in baseball, and been competitive on the national stage for 50 years. MS football hasn’t done anything since pre-integration, and that school that did have success is now most known for choking rather than winning. I rest my case.
MS’ lack of unity has directly contributed to this reality.
Hey, looky here, I'm already back. We saw 330K people come through the baseball gates this season. Football saw 380K in 2023. Tell you what, thems some stark numbers aren't they. When Dudy Noble seats more than 50K and HS baseball outdraws HS football get back to me. Football is king everywhere in the South, whether you want to live in an alternate reality or not.Bruh you need to get out more. Georgia is a football state. Texas is a football state. Alabama is a football state. Mississippi is…..not.

Ha. We had 31 home baseball games this year as opposed to 7 hime football games. Imagine what those numbers would be if we had 31 home football games, not to mention if they were all at baseball ticket pricing.Hey, looky here, I'm already back. Care to state the attendance per game or the revenue by program? Football is king and always will be.Hey, looky here, I'm already back. We saw 330K people come through the baseball gates this season. Football saw 380K in 2023. Tell you what, thems some stark numbers aren't they.

That's how it works. Baseball plays more games.Care to state the attendance per game or the revenue by program? Football is king and always will be.
And makes WAY less money. In fact, it usually loses money. That's how it works. Baseball plays more games.
I'd love to see how much we could actually sell in season tickets. Add on to it, actually charge market value for seat prices in baseball. I think the numbers total for the year would be a lot closer than expected. That said football is king but it's a shame the one sport we're good at, you can't get seats and the ticket for holders is way under priced. Very poor leadership and short sighted. And makes WAY less money. In fact, it usually loses money.
Nobody is arguing that. We can max out our fund raising (like Ole Miss) and still won’t win shlt in football (like them). And makes WAY less money. In fact, it usually loses money.
Football is still king. Living in a fantasy world doesn't change reality.Nobody is arguing that. We can max out our fund raising (like Ole Miss) and still won’t win shlt in football (like them).
Baseball - however - brings titles. And that’s a big part of being a (insert sport) state.
If you wanted football success you should have convinced Ole Miss and MSU to combine forces back in the day.
Creating the banner M ruined our traditional athletic branding. M over S is my favorite logo, but I also like interlocking. I can live with State script on jerseys. I don't even recognize banner M in my house. I won't buy the clothing, hats, or anything else with that logo. It's crap.It is NO way a bust!! It absolutely identifies us as Mississippi State University, universally. If you want something that's a bust, it's that script "State." Talk about something that took ZERO imagination, that's it. I would take the M over S in a heartbeat over that script State. Also, under the last baseball administration, our softball program was refused the use of the M over S on their uniforms. I hope BOC has the good sense to change that and allow softball to use the M over S.
